As part of its current restructuring process in alignment with its Three-Years Country Plan (2023/2025), ABAAD is recruiting specialists for its new Model Centers for multidisciplinary Holistic Care to Combat GBV in Lebanon in different regions around the country.
JOB TITLE: Accountant
LOCATION : Roving
JOB PURPOSE:
The Accountant will be responsible for working within the Finance Department, assisting in day to day activities, setting and maintaining reports and file. The Accountant position will be based in Beirut with frequent travelling to ABAAD centers all over Lebanon.
REPORTING LINES: Head of Finance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the financial review of purchase requests, purchase orders and payment requests to ensure compliance with ABAAD policies and procedures and project budget.
- Set up and maintain the finance department’s grant files. Assist in the month end review of sub-office journals to ensure proper coding of all transactions.
- Prepare the month end grant spending reports and Budget vs. Actual from the general ledger.
- Maintain the match documentation files and match tracking spreadsheets.
- Maintain sub-grant financial files, process sub-grantee payments and reconcile sub-grant financial tracking to general ledger reports.
- Make sure that all supporting documentation is prepared and filed according to ABAAD procedures.
- Assist in the month end accounting close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger, sub-journals and all supporting documentation.
- Update the cash and bank books in the system.
- Assist the Head of Finance in responding to audit inquiries and requests for financial information.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
- Minimum of two years of experiences (NGO is a must)
- University degree Accounting, Business or any related field
- Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the national and/or international NGOs in the region;
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience working with financial software
- Skilled in report writing in both languages (Arabic and English – French is a plus);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic including
- Demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;
- Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;
- Good organizational skills;
- Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
- Takes responsibility for own work and delegated tasks and activities.
- Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
