“Livelihood Support for Vulnerable Akkar Communities through Cash for Work” project, implemented by the Rene Moawad Foundation (RMF), will ensure the active engagement of 1,800 vulnerable beneficiaries (Lebanese, Syrian refugees, men, women, and PWDs), in short-term cash for work opportunities tackling light rehabilitation, construction, cleaning, landscaping, and meal preparation / distribution activities, within 5 villages in Akkar.
In this context, RMF will run a kitchen, which is located in Halba (Akkar), to produce daily hot meals for 360 persons, with respect to proper food safety standards.
The Food Quality Assurance Officer will be in charge of ensuring the quality of hot meals produced and distributed to project participants in the cash for work activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for the food products in line with the applicable regulations.
- Develops quality assurance, testing, and inspecting procedures to ensure that produced food meet required quality standards. All processes that could affect food quality are to be considered, including but not limited to: raw materials, production, packaging, storage, electricity supply, environmental aspect, distribution process, etc. The procedures shall include the relevant checklists.
- Ensures the proper application of the procedures; maintains regular coordination with the Chef and with the Nutritionist in this regard.
- Handles food quality testing as per the procedure.
- Handles the inspection of processes in a regular way.
- Ensure all checklists are correctly completed and all noncompliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off.
- Handles record-keeping in an organized way, for all the processes.
- Troubleshooting: identifies and analyzes issues; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
- Plans a user’s feedback process, implements and reviews feedback received.
- Maintains compliance with applicable laws and regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
- Proficient with Excel or related software is required.
Education and Experience:
- At least Bachelor degree in food science, chemical engineering, or another field related to the quality of food products.
- Three to five years of experience in related field is required, with supervisory experience preferred.
