Job Description

  • Job Title: Accounting Manager
  1. Job Purpose:

The accounting Manager performs daily accounting tasks in coordination with the finance Manager.

 

  1. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handles the cash of the Head Office.
  1. Ensures that cash, cash equivalents and financial records are safeguarded and properly utilized in Head Office and branches.
  2. Ensures regular reconciliation of accounts.
  • Audits and oversees the documentation and recording of all income and expense transactions for every project, verifies, and correctly maintains procedures, such as payments and other day to day financial transactions.
  1. Ensures financial accounting complies with policies, procedures, and local legal requirements (taxes, social security, insurance where applicable).
  2. Reviews and checks:
  1. Vouchers (numbered and aligned with the system).
  2. Reconciliations (weekly): banks, suppliers, cash, front ends from projects.
  3. Bank reconciliations (monthly) & cash withdrawals processing.
  1. Ensures that all supporting documents are provided.
  2. Managing assets at Head Office & Projects.
  3. Ensures the capitalization of all the records of the grants in progress.

 

  • NSSF & MoF:
  1. Ensures, along with the Finance Manager and HR Officer, the proper completion of registration and withdrawal of staff from NSSF.
  2. Complete the “Payroll” official forms.
  • Assists the finance Manager in the preparation of Annual Audit.
  • Communicates regularly with the Finance Manager, informing him on all major issues.
  • Conducts any other related tasks, as assigned by the Finance Manager, that are within the ambit of the position.
  • Supervise reporting officers to meet projects’ deadlines and requirements set by donors.
  • Assists in developing where necessary and maintain accounting / financial systems and accounting / financial policies for the organization.
  1. Reporting Line

Direct reporting: Director of Finance

Indirect reporting: General of Manager

Internal Communication: All of Ghawth’s employees, project managers.

External Communication: Donors and suppliers of goods and services.

  1. Job Qualifications and Requirements

 

  1. Academic Qualifications
  • A university degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 professional years of experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, work independently and respect deadlines.
  • Previous work experience in Lebanon is an asset.
  • Experience in NGO is a plus.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and team working skills.
  • Good cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Highly approachable, trustworthy, and confidential.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and hardworking.

  • Prepare to work overtime and during breakdowns and occasions when necessary.
