BACKGROUND

The Field Facilitator will work under the project “SWaM – Supporting Sustainable Solid waste Management in Jord el Qaytaa – Akkar” funded by EU and implemented by COOPI in partnership with the Union of Municipalities in Jord El Qaytaa, COSPE, Studio Azue and Mada Association. Under this project, Mada is mainly responsible for community mobilization and awareness raising around solid waste.

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Facilitator will work from the Tripoli office, with daily field visits to project sites in Akkar – Jord Al Qaytaa for 7 months starting from March – April 2023. S/he will report to the Project Manager.

The Field Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of activities at field level, as well as all awareness campaign activities under the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Activity Implementation

• Implementation of awareness through door-to-door households visits, to promote the adoption of sorting practice on a daily basis,
• Liaison with local authorities, partners, communities and the project team to guarantee smooth implementation of activities,
• Maintain constant presence on field at all project sites to ensure that community is involved and properly mobilized,
• Supporting the project team in planning and preparing the group sessions directly with the households,
• Supporting the project team in planning and preparing for the activities on waste reduction and recycling practices in schools,
• Providing correct information to the beneficiaries on the scope and strategy of the project,
• Collecting data from the field as required to feed into projects reports,
• Weekly data entry of collected data from the field,
• Providing the Project Manager with monthly and weekly reports based on needs,
• Participating actively in team meetings to discuss challenges, mitigations and learnings,
• Ensuring that any matter that requires attention is reported for direct action,
• Following up on all logistics needed for the required tasks.

Other Tasks

• Prepare weekly reports on field implementation, challenges, progress, lessons learned, etc. to the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper filing and archiving of all project documents.
• Collect success stories from the field and ensure project visibility (Mada’s and donor’s).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Highschool diploma
• At least 1 year working in NGOs under the development sector,
• Experience working in the field of solid waste and experience in awareness raising,
• Ability to work with a broad spectrum of people, both staff and stakeholders/beneficiaries,
• English and Arabic required,
• Computer literate,
• Ability to cope with stressful situations and tight deadlines,
• Ability to be present on field on a regular basis,
• Knowledge of Akkar is mandatory.
