Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) in Lebanon and direct supervision of the Head of Programmes (HoP); and, in collaboration with the IOM Global Data Institute and Regional Data Hubs, the Data and Operations Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of data and research project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific data and research project topics.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances and process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Support in the delivery of capacity-development modules on data collection and migrant protection aspects, based on IOM’s and DTM’s methodology and tools, for enumerators, the IOM mission, as well as external partners.
- Assist in planning data collection activities in close collaboration with key stakeholders and support the planning and monitoring of data collection timelines to ensure quality data collection activities, identifying changes needed as well as information gaps/research needs.
- Draft status reports on project progress; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, analytical reports, and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and UN-led coordination forum; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Assist in the dissemination of project results and outputs and ensure wide and sound use of the data and information generated by the data and research projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The incumbent is expected to demonstrate the following skills, values and competencies:

- Strong computer background, including experience with Microsoft applications, spreadsheets, and word processing.
