- Required qualifications, competences, and experience
Qualifications
- University degree in Graphic Design, or a similar/relevant major.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Professional experience
- 3 years of good experience and knowledge in graphic design with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management.
- Familiarity with mass email distribution tool/software.
- Experience working in nonprofits, or in the fields of international development is an asset.
- Web design knowledge is an asset.
- Knowledge on Microsoft 365 knowledge is a plus.
- Photography and videography experience is a plus.
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Experience in data visualization, and social media monitoring is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, knowledge of German language is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and has a creative eye for high-quality graphic design, photography, etc.
- Strong cooperation and collaboration spirit with team and external stakeholders.
- Creative flair and originality.
- High level of motivation, ability to show initiative and work independently.
- Good knowledge of printing companies in the Lebanese market.
- Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms.
- Responsibilities:
The designer contributes to the external communication on the activities and projects of the German Cooperation in Lebanon. The designer will assist in producing engaging and modern products to reach a wide range of people, communities, and entities. The products will be used on various channels, among which social media is primary.
- Other duties/additional tasks
The position holder will:
- Support in developing engaging content and social media products, such a posters, GIFs, banners, and other products – mainly for Twitter based on the activities of the German Cooperation in Lebanon.
- Design PowerPoint presentations.
- Create infographics.
- Support in coordinating all graphic design work with external consultants.
- Assist in drafting innovative concepts for design work.
- Establish a pool of graphic designers, illustrators, and printing companies.
- Liaise with projects and programmes to ensure corporate identity.
- Assist projects with logo settlements, and other elements related to design.
- Design factsheets, and other visual products.
- Contribute to the design of all German Cooperation material, including visibility plates and logo placements on material.
- Ensure all corporate products are in line with corporate identity and the rules of the German Cooperation Logo.
- Work with the GIZ Lebanon Portfolio Management Unit (PFMU) to create and refine social media plans and outreach.
- Assist in managing social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, and/or YouTube).
- Use photos, videos, and graphic design tools to create brand-aligned content for social media, newsletters and other channels of communication.
- Assist in content development, copy editing and layout/design for monthly newsletters and email blast.
- Assist with other communication tasks as needed, such as template/document formatting, managing photo/video libraries, printing, etc.
- Support digitization, visualization, and development of infographics for various products.
- Other graphic design tasks as needed.
