Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women, and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social, and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.
The Logistics Intern will be responsible:
The Logistics Intern is responsible to process all the procurement related to the base and support the supervision of the procurements done at base level.
Objective 1: Supply Chain
- Support in the development and implementation of procurement procedures
- Support in the office needs follow up, purchase office supplies and organize the payments of invoices to the suppliers
- Update the supplier and price list of the procurements
- Deliver and collect quotes, as and when requested by Supply Chain Officer
- Inspect items delivered and deal with contractors regarding back orders and missing or damaged goods, as and when requested by the Supply Chain Officer
- Record progress of procurement in the procurement follow up database.
- Prepare procurement requests and supplier purchase orders for the logistics Department under the Action Against Hunger procurement rules.
- Support in the update of the contract follow up
- Prepare the first draft of the supply chain management documents according to KitLog
- Coordinate with suppliers the delivery of the final invoices
- Ensure proper hard copies archiving of assigned logistics documents
- Ensure proper soft copies archiving of assigned logistics documents
Objective 2: Logistics Management
- Support in the optimization of internal tools
- Support in the analysis of the indicators defined through, consolidating data, creating graphs and drafting reports
- Deal with the suppliers visits to the office
- Crosscheck the payments with Procurement, contract follow-up and purchase dossiers
- Support the Log Officer & LogCo in development of monthly reports
- Coordinate the Mail between Beirut and the bases
Requirements:
- High School certificate with professional experience in logistic/clerical work
- University degree preferred on Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, ICT or related
- 1-year minimum experience working on volunteering at NGOs or private experience is desired.
- Participation in extracurricular activities will be an asset.
- Experience in procurement, experience with NGOs is a plus.
