Job Summary
The psychologist will be responsible for conducting individual and group Support sessions for beneficiaries and staff. The psychologist will be roving in 6 community development centers in Mount Lebanon and will be responsible for reporting back to the project coordinator and the Mental health Coordinator. The psychologist will be as well responsible for referring cases that are in need of other services to the relevant focal points.
Duties:
- Organize weekly support groups for case workers/social workers implementing case management and PSS support activities (who are in daily contact with beneficiaries).
- Performs individual assessments in the case of individual staff members/beneficiaries experiencing difficulty coping and/or presenting mental health-related symptoms or syndromes.
- Broadly advises the Project Coordinator and the Mental Health Coordinator as necessary, on individual and /or group cases where an identified problem is likely to have professional, vocational and/or counseling effect (e.g. work-related problem due to a psychological problem, conflict resolution, etc.).
- Advises Project Coordinator, HR as necessary, or upon request, with the aim of improving the working atmosphere in their teams and resolving problems of a work-related or personal nature that adversely affect job performance and productivity.
- Monitors environmental factors that could lead to stress, with particular focus on stress related to critical incidents including emergency and crisis situations;
- Plan, develop and implement stress management and resilience building training to all staff members in the mission.
- Group sessions on a monthly basis for all staff to learn skills to respond to, manage and reduce stress and promote positive coping measures and self-care.
- Psychological counselling available on a one-to-one to basis for staff members on a request basis, once a week, if and when required, at a time agreed by the Concern and the psychologist.
