JOB SUMMARY
The Protection Officer ensures the harmonization of all services across the different projects in the region and that all program components are implemented with high quality standards.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
• Ensure the implementation of the internal and National SOPs, guidelines, referral and coordination mechanisms for assistance to beneficiaries in all the projects
• Provide Capacity Building and Case Management trainings for the team of the centers to ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards for national protection group prevention and response
• Monitor the provision of cash for protection, assess protection objectives and follow-up on the impact of assistance
• Coordinate with the MEAL team for the implementation of monitoring and evaluation plan to assess the impact of activities and projects
• Represent CL in all the coordination meeting (PWG – GBV WG – CP WG) at regional level
• Oversee case management (including follow up on referrals and action plans) and support services provided to PWSNs referred or identified by Caritas centers
• Ensure and monitor the correct documentation of cases through review of files and databases
• Ensure confidentiality of information and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected
• Review staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable and share challenges with the Protection Coordinator
• Ensure the dissemination of information from the protection coordinator to CM team
• Provide briefings on child safeguarding and appropriate behavior with children to all case management staff
• Ensure any concerns are reported and addressed immediately
• Monitor/assess the safety and security of oneself consistently and proactively;
• Report concerns or incidents to management promptly and liaise with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for programs
Generic Duties
• Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
• Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
• Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
• Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Management, or any related field
Other Qualifications
- Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
Related Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar capacity
- Proven experience in the reporting system for NGOs
Language skills:
- English and Arabic
Computer Literacy:
- MS-Word / MS-Excel – Advanced level
