House of Peace (HOPe), officially registered as Threads of Peace in 2019, is a non-governmental social peace-building organisation based in Lebanon. HOPe aims through different activities to enhance social peace within local communities by shifting perceptions; supporting and connecting community-based initiatives and dialogue spaces; advancing the principles of conflict sensitivity; and by voicing grassroots perspectives, stories and aspirations.

Because we believe that in all times, especially in times of turmoil and change, a source of peace exists in every person and every society, and all we need to do is facilitating the process for peace to emerge and blossom.

  • Roles & Responsibilities:

Support Roles:

  • Procedures Manager: Designing and implementing HOPe HR policies that promote a healthy work environment, (Procedures, reports, evaluations and feedbacks), and apply them.
  • Orientation Facilitator: Ensuring a fair distribution of Roles within the team. Ensuring all team members know their roles and responsibilities with project coordinators and officers. Supporting the team to set the dynamics of team meetings regularity, scope, documentation and monitoring tools.
  • Quality Advisor: Conduct Biannual 360 degrees feedback and evaluations with the team members – and lead the team to gradually take responsibility of managing performance evaluation, conflict resolution, accountability measures, promotion, and benefits updates.
  • Team Capacity Builder: Ensuring with the support of director and coordinators that all team members have the competencies to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Supporting the team to examine internal needs and identifying and suggesting potential capacity building accordingly.
  • Safeguarding Focal- point: Applying HOPe Safeguarding policy and handling all internal and field complains in addition to reporting. Ensuring that employees’ requests and grievances are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Recruiter & Interviewer: Applying and suggesting improvements to the entire recruitment process. Initiating the recruitment process by preparing Job Descriptions in collaboration with coordinators, calling for CVs, filtering profiles and coordinating interviews in collaboration with other interviewers from the team.
  • NSSF and Monthly payroll:Preparation of payroll in compliance with contracts.Responsible for organization and completeness of HR records hard and soft copy. Ensure compliance to Lebanese Labor Law. Responsible for smooth separation process of staff at end of contract or termination, in close collaboration with key personnel (Director, and coordinator). Supporting in the preparation and timely submission of HR-related tax papers to NSSF and tax office.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Experience, knowledge or openness to modern operational and management models.
  • Trustworthy and good interpersonal communicator.
  • Active and empathetic listener.
  • Bachelor’s degree with research experience (MA, MSc preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in humanitarian programs.
  • Perfect command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Notable time management and organizational skills.
  • Good computing skills.
  • Additional requirement for non-Lebanese nationals: permit of residence in Lebanon is required.
