Background
DCA Lebanon has worked in mine action since 2007. In addition to reducing the harm from explosion, clearance activities also release contaminated land for socio-economic development in the context of rising demands from the local and refugee population. In 2012, DCA began implementing humanitarian and development projects through local partners and scaled up its operations in 2021 due to the deepening crisis in country.
Role
The overall objective of this role is ensuring that the project is completed within the defined scope, budget, and timeline. The position holder should have excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in project management methodologies and tools. Additionally, the Project Officer should be able to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Planning and scheduling: Developing project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure that project is completed within the set deadlines.
- Communication: Liaising with stakeholders, team members, and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project.
- Budget management: Managing project's budgets and expenses to ensure that project is completed within the set budget.
- Resource allocation: Identifying and allocating resources required for the successful completion of the project.
- Risk management: Identifying and managing potential risks that could impact the success of the project.
- Reporting: Preparing regular progress reports and status updates to keep stakeholders informed about project's status.
- Supervise and manage the social workers team to ensure their assigned tasks are completed and being reported in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Quality control: Ensuring that project's deliverables meet the required quality standards.
- Stakeholder management: Managing relationships with project's stakeholders to ensure that their expectations are met, and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Team management: Coordinating and managing teams to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently.
Background
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in INGO/ NGO projects management and partnerships management.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the protection's sector.
- Experience with budgeting and procurement procedures and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
- Experience in capacitating local partner is a plus.
- Good IT skills.
- Degree in business management or any related field, project management certification is a plus.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
