The Field Officer for the Peace Building Project, will play a vital role in supporting and implementing initiatives aimed at promoting peace, reconciliation, and conflict resolution in various communities. You will work closely with local stakeholders, community leaders, and project partners to facilitate dialogue, build relationships, and create sustainable peace-building strategies. The Field Officer will be responsible for coordinating activities, monitoring progress, and documenting impact to contribute to positive social change.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Project Implementation:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement peace-building initiatives and activities in line with project objectives.
- Facilitate community dialogues, workshops, and trainings on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
- Support the development and implementation of local peace-building strategies, considering the cultural and social context of the target communities.
- Provide guidance and support to local community leaders, civil society organizations, and volunteers engaged in peace-building activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and propose adaptive measures to ensure effective implementation.
Community Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key community members, local leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites and engage directly with community members to understand their needs, perspectives, and concerns.
- Foster a sense of ownership and participation among community members by promoting inclusive decision-making processes.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and forums to encourage open dialogue, conflict resolution, and mutual understanding.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to track the progress and impact of peace-building activities.
- Collect data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports on project activities, outputs, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices to contribute to knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
Networking and Partnerships:
- Identify and engage potential partners, including local organizations, government agencies, and NGOs, to enhance the project's impact and sustainability.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for project activities.
- Represent the organization in relevant meetings, conferences, and events related to peace-building and conflict resolution.
- Foster collaborative relationships with other peace-building practitioners and organizations to promote knowledge exchange and collective impact.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (2 years) working in peace-building, conflict resolution, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of peace-building concepts, conflict analysis frameworks, and approaches to reconciliation.
- Familiarity with local cultural dynamics, social norms, and political context in the North of Lebanon.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and conduct community engagement activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in challenging and sensitive environments.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Conditions
- Full-Time working hours: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm.
- Willingness to travel abroad for meetings and conferences (where applicable).
