JOB PURPOSE
The social worker will provide confidential case management and psychosocial support, as well as referrals to other service providers as needed. The social worker will work individuals from vulnerable communities that include, but are not limited to, LGBTIQ+ persons, sex workers, drug users/injectors, and adolescents and youth, those particularly at risk of, and are survivors of GBV. The social worker is usually the first point of contact for those in need.
POSITION PURPOSE
The social worker reports to the senior social worker. The primary function of the social worker is to ensure the quality implementation of case management following all SIDC projects. The SW will manage medium to high-risk cases with technical assistance from the senior social worker. In addition, the SW is responsible for developing/strengthening relationships with other service providers working with the key populations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess beneficiary’s needs identified during daily activities and make appropriate referrals for services.
- Identify cases in need of an urgent response, guided by SIDC’s case management SOPs
- Directly follow-up affected beneficiaries to service providers when needed to ensure access to services.
- Create weekly work plans and prioritization tasks, including case conferences.
- Ensure targets are met according to donor’s requirements
- Ensure safe and secure storage of any beneficiaries related data
- Coordinate with outreach workers and Escale centre to facilitate referrals following the referral pathway.
- Update the service mapping on all services related to the key population
- Handle case assignments, draft action plans, review case progress and determine case closure
- Help beneficiaries achieve wellness and autonomy
- Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, etc…)
- Help beneficiaries make informed decisions by acting as their advocate regarding their status and protection options
- Develop effective professional relations and cooperate with other teams throughout the entire case management process
- Arrange abeyances with social services, health, and other service providers
- Follow up with beneficiaries to keep track of their progress and to ensure satisfaction
- Record cases information, complete all necessary forms accurately and produce statistical reports
- Promote quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes
- Assess and address motivational and psychosocial issues
- Adhere to SIDC’s policies, rules, and regulations
- Develop educational sessions for beneficiaries upon request
- Any other tasks may be assigned
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
- Degree in social work
- Knowledge of GBV prevention and response
- Knowledge of case management principles
- Strong case management experience based on survivor-centered approach
- Experience working with key populations or vulnerable communities is an asset
MONITORING & REPORTING
- Prepare reports as required in a timely manner and incorporate manager feedback
- Support the maintenance of SIDC’s case management system
- Participate in weekly internal meetings and monthly team meetings to ensure adherence to standards of appropriate case management
- Collect and manage data safely and ethically
- Coordinate with and represent SIDC at working group meetings
COORDINATION
As requested undertake/participate in liaison, coordination, and information sharing activities with national NGOs, international organizations, donors, and government

- Coordinate with other actors providing essential services including: health, legal, psychosocial, security, shelter, bother internally and externally
- Advocate with other organization to ensure that survivor receives best possible care
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for those in center
- Use a survivor-centered and community-based approach
- Respect guiding principles of safety, confidentiality, non-discrimination
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to human rights and gender equality
- Flexible pro-active attitude
- Ability to work well as an individual and in a team
- Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment
- Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts
- Ability to work with diverse beneficiaries
- Belief in SIDC’s mission and vision
- Respect for SIDIC’s code of conduct and other policies, including PSEA and ethical guidelines
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English. French is a plus.
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with RIMS is an asset
- Willingness and ability to work under stress and workload pressure
- Good organizational skills
