Description:
LOST is seeking to recruit a counselor in Baalbeck to work on “Improving livelihoods of communities affected by the crisis” project.
This position will provide advisory services and technical expertise to a variety of vulnerable beneficiaries in a defined geographic area of Baalbeck-Hermel. This position main role is to:
- Outreach beneficiaries
- Validate data collected
- Follow up and counsel the participants on career guidance
- Monitor internship and cash for work activities
- Follow up with MSMEs
Primary Responsibilities
- Outreach and map all primary beneficiaries in the designated areas
- Build a consistent support and coaching process for each beneficiary to support him/her to achieve their ambitions;
- Support the management of existing technical assistance engagements including livelihoods assessments, implementation oversight, support in training, and input on monitoring, documentation and knowledge management for existing beneficiaries
- Make information about the labor market trends and about educational and employment opportunities more accessible by organizing it, systematizing it and having it available when and where people need it;
- Play a key role in project reporting, M&E data collection and any market study for project decision making;
- Support beneficiaries in vocational training to participate fully in all aspects of the training pathway, including work-based learning.
- Support teamwork and keep consistent coordination with the team regarding activity implementation, and any challenges and successes.
- Conduct visits to MSMEs to track their progress
- Conduct regular follow up with beneficiaries to provide additional support and guidance as needed and participate in providing solutions in case any difficulties are faced by the beneficiaries
- Engage in the staff development process that will enable the successful execution of technical assistance engagements
- Participate in learning initiatives, events and workshops as needed.
- Ensure that the counselling and the implementation of activities is gender sensitive, inclusive of vulnerable communities and people with disabilities, participatory, relevant to the context and conflict sensitive as well.
- Promote accountability and transparency with all the implementing activities.
Qualifications:
BA in Social Science or any other related field.
5 years of experience in management/assistance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.
Ability to show positive and collaborative approach toward diversity.
Flexibility and ability to deal with cultural differences.
Fluency in English and Arabic. French is an added value.
Experience in Cash for work
Experience in SMEs support
