Position Type : Consultancy
Job Purpose:
Provide psychological support and counseling for beneficiaries, both on an individual and group level, and support INTERSOS staff to improve the quality of specialized services provided to individuals at risk in the different centers.
Generic Duties:
- Assess the needs of the targeted beneficiaries in each center and design, in collaboration with the staff, a package of PSS activities for the beneficiaries of INTERSOS centre;
- Support INTERSOS staff to improve the quality of specialized services provided (specialized psychological services, group therapy and emotional support groups, and individual counseling) for GBV survivors and individuals at risk,
- Report to the POCM, DPM,the Protection Manager and MHPSS Specialist, when needed, any problems and/or training needs identified during the monitoring of the implementation of psychological activities.
- Follow in an accurate way the weekly schedule shared with PO CM and produce monthly reports;
- Provide CWs general psychological feedback and progress after each psychological session to help in the case management process, while respecting client confidentiality, as support for the Case Worker to developed and revise the Case Management action plans.
- Inform the POCM about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation;
- Be available to train on psychological support, MHPSS and psychological first aid INTERSOS staff when requested;
- Collaborate with INTERSOS staff in conducting any other trainings when requested by the Protection Manager and the PO CM and DPM
- Accomplish any other assignments given by the supervisor
- Be available to participate in meetings in INTERSOS offices or other identified premises.
- Provide to the PO CM a weekly and monthly report on the activities conducted.
Specific Duties:
(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).
- Conduct short-term emotional support intervention to several groups of beneficiaries
- Conduct short-term counselling intervention to individual beneficiaries.
- Refer to the technical referent for support in any technical issues and recommendations.
- Regularly attend and engage in the peer-to-peer meetings along MHPSS Specialist and psychologists across the bases.
- Provide individual counselling for staff members when requested;
- Inform CWs about cases that need mental health referral, after the basic psychological session provided;
- Assist the CWs in referrals to mental health agencies (psychiatric hospitals and shelters).
Reporting:
- Provide the National Protection Officer CM with an overview of the support provided through the case management. This overview will consist in a brief of what has been done for which case in collaboration with the case workers, as well as a narrative component that explains the status of each case, challenges and opportunities, and the suggested way forward for each case
- Provide the PO CM on a weekly basis with a plan of her/his activities during the week, to be developed in deep in the monthly report.
- Ensure accurate and quality data collection and reporting on internal platforms.
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.

Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a clinical setting and with at least 1 NGO;
- Understanding and commitment to child’s rights and protection;
- Experience providing individual counseling services;
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Analytical and reporting skills;
- Driving license.
