General Purpose of the position
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the training of JRS Lebanon Bar Elias staff in matters of Psychological First Aid, recognition of symptoms and support for persons in distress. Furthermore she/he initiates and supervises referrals of cases to outside experts. Less complicated cases will be attended by her/him at the home of the refugee or in JRS’ field offices. The Clinical Psychologist debriefs the Social Workers regularly.
Main Responsibilities of the Position
1. Training of JRS Staff
- Conducting of sessions on Psychological First Aid and recognition of symptoms indicating psychological and/or psychiatric condition.
- Conducting sessions on how to support persons in distress and trauma.
- Conducting sessions on self-care and stress handling.
- Conducting bimonthly Social Workers meeting and ongoing support.
- Development of PSS Programs addressing the changing needs of JRS Projects.
2. Staff Care
- Regular debriefing and coaching of Social Workers (in all JRS Lebanon Bar Elias Projects) in their places of work.
- Counselling of staff.
- Collaboration with External Experts.
- Planning and facilitating common workshops with External Experts for JRS staff.
3. Counselling of Beneficiaries
- Counselling of individual cases in JRS Projects in Bar Elias.
- Identification and assessment of individual cases for referral.
- Follow-up on any referred case.
4. Administration
- Keeping proper patient files.
- Writing condensed reports of the activities done and the cases treated.
- Submitting monthly, half-year and annual reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Permission to practice the profession.
- Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field.
- Proven managerial experience.
- Background in GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset.
- Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken is required.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
