General Objectives:

The Social Worker is responsible for performing outreach activities, conducting case management, and facilitating interdisciplinary approaches.

General Tasks:

1. In-house and Outreach Activities:

  • Welcome people with social needs to the center.
  • Conduct interviews with beneficiaries and gather all relevant information.
  • Assess beneficiaries’ needs based on the data collected.
  • Create and organize an individual file for each beneficiary.
  • Perform case management for each individual.
  • Coordinate with the outreach team to ensure an understanding of the targeted beneficiaries’ assessment criteria.

2. Case Management:

  • Conduct home and field visits to vulnerable individuals in the designated area, and complete the necessary interviews to better understand and assess the situation, needs, and challenges.
  • Determine for each case, the necessary support and services needed to achieve a satisfactory standard of living through using interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Provide the necessary services, interventions, and support and when needed advocate on behalf of the beneficiary to ensure a decent living.
  • Establish connections with associations and institutions across Beirut and Mount Lebanon area to facilitate beneficiary referrals and service provision.
  • Maintain beneficiaries’ records by reviewing case notes; logging events and progress.
  • Follow up continuously on each case until the reach of objectives.

3. Documentation and Reports:

  • Write a detailed report for each beneficiary’s assessment and needs.
  • Write a report about the activities conducted along with its related documentation (pictures, medical documentation, attendance sheets etc.).

4. Coordination and Follow-up:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with arcenciel’s team members and external partners of the association.
  • Participate in working groups to enrich institutional and inter-institutional reflection.
  • Develop and retain solid connections with potential partners and permanent members of the association in order to ensure the social services unit’s mission and serve the greatest possible number of people.
  • Build a strong referral system among local stakeholders.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Skill Set and Competencies:

  • A deep understanding of various disabilities, including physical, sensory, intellectual, and mental disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, educators, therapists, and community organizations.
  • Proficiency in community service techniques and practices.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and an understanding of how cultural factors can influence inclusion efforts.
  • Ability to identify barriers faced by beneficiaries and develop creative solutions to address them.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in the field through ongoing professional development and training.
  • Proficiency in case management and needs assessment
  • Good understanding of arcenciel’s culture, values, and spirit
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and initiative-taking approach
  • Listening skills and capacity to analyze
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals.
  • Ability to provide patient and compassionate care to individuals with social needs and vulnerable populations.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high work ethics and maintain a culture of transparency in all interactions, adhering to ethical standards.
