General Information about Venture AssociationVenture Association/Al Qadisyeh in Beddawi Camp announces the need for a Social Worker. To work within the project:

Strengthening access to quality and inclusive education services for the vulnerable boys and girls of the Palestinian refugee communities in Lebanon”- The project is implemented in partnership with TDH-ITALY – Funded by UNICEF.

  • Duty Station/Location: Beddawi Camp
  • Working Days: 5 days a week
  • Project Duration: 10 months (Extendable based on performance and availability of funds)

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate project’s implementation

  • Identify and assess communities to be engaged in the PSS activities.
  • Identify and Receive children and parents from the Learning support centers, schools NGOs and other stakeholders.
  • Plan monthly and daily activities and share the work progress periodically.
  • Prepare and conduct PSS activities (individual, groups) in line with global and national inter-agency SOPs/standards such as emotional support groups, facilitate focus group discussions and develop both of the knowledge and skills of children, as well as children out of school or at risk of dropout.
  • Prepare session materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
  • Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
  • Provide children with special needs with the needed support.
  • Supervise and treat children with dignity and respect.
  • Create a safe space where participants can voice their opinions, thoughts and emotions, share experiences and brainstorm on solutions in a confidential and respectful manner.
  • Actively refer cases when necessary from community-based protection activities to focused PSS, education or other services.
  • Maintain positive relations with the center team local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders;
  • Maintain regular contact with teachers, center supervisors, animators and area focal points.

Ensure children’s safety and Protection

  • Identify cases in need of referral to specialized services.
  • Identify and refer children in need of tailored support to the appropriate institutions/service providers (health services, other NFE program, PSS services…)
  • Ensure that the provided materials are properly used, kept and cleaned;
  • Ensure that all children and adolescents in PSS activities are referred to education or other services.

Tracking, reporting on activities

  • Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during PSS (attendance sheets, parental consent, referrals etc.)
  • Develop a monthly operational progress.

Logistics responsibilities

  • Support the logistics and procurement processes needed for the implementation of PSS.
  • Report the items needing repair or replacement.
  • Coordinate the purchase of the session’s materials.

Other duties as required

  • Attend and participate in capacity-building trainings.
  • Attend and participate in organization events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience working in Active and Inclusive Learning support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social development-related field, (psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education, or social animation) is preferable.
  • Candidates must have skills in working with people of all ages and social groups;
  • High integrity in social interactions
  • Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Personal Skills:

  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility
  • Preference to candidate with field experience inside the camp he is assigned to work in.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and pro-active negotiation skills.
  • Skilled at working with local communities and authorities
  • Understanding of policies concerning Child Protection.
  • Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.).
  • Familiar with core principles of Children's Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, INFE minimum standards, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Able to work under stress.
  • Enthusiastic and looks for continuous self-development.
  • Planning and organizing skills

Job Procedures:

  • Shortlisted Candidates will be invited for a Technical Test (60% of total Grade) & interview (40% of total grade) conducted in English
  • Priority will be given to fully qualify registered Palestinian refugees’ candidates residing in Beddawi camp and its surroundings.
  • Only the top 05 Candidates ranks in the technical test will be invited for the interview.
