The Protection Officer plays a significant role in ensuring all the project’s activities and implementation are being done correctly throughout all phases, conducting assessments of protection needs, addressing psychosocial needs, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing crucial support in emergencies. The selected candidate should be able to prepare and conduct training programs and referral tools. By working closely with communities, beneficiaries, stakeholders, and other organizations, he/she should create a protective environment that empowers those in need and advocates for their rights.
Design and implement protection programs and SOPs that address the specific needs of the targeted group
Ensure protection strategies within agreed SOPs, guidelines, and frameworks are created and updated, explained and in place to guide project implementation
Establish a positive and mutually supportive professional working relationship with partners
Support in all reporting requirements when needed.
Ensure the implementation of the internal and national SOPs and guidelines
Provide guidance and technical capacity through training for partners and staff to ensure that they implement best-practices and international standards
Ensure confidentiality of information and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected
Monitor project’s implementation and gather data on protection-related concerns
Propose improvements of the Protection Tools as needed
Respond directly to protection needs and provide immediate support when needed.
Conduct regular field monitoring and collaboration with staff
Develop an up-to-date referral system to receive and respond to cases in field locations
Develop and implement analysis which aims to deepen understanding of protection and gender issues with field staff and MEAL Unit
Deliver relevant protection trainings, on safe identification and referrals, gender, and case management training to DOTLebanon staff and CBO teams when necessary.
Ensure regular coordination with the Project Coordinator/Senior Project Officer on weekly field visits, constraints, successes, recommendations, etc..
Undertake other duties assigned by the Program Manager and DOTLebanon Country Director
