I.Summary
The rapid assessment will apply a cross-sectional design to collect quantitative data on the diets of children aged 6–23 months and the barriers experienced by caregivers in feeding nutritious diets to these children. It aims to understand how and what young children are being fed and what barriers are experienced in the context of the current global food and nutrition crisis and is not intended to provide representative estimates of a specific geographic area or population in Lebanon.
The study will be conducted in Akkar region targeting 150 Lebanese and 50 non-Lebanese residing in camps or settlements. In this study location, the study will be conducted at sites where children aged 6–23 months and their mothers/caregivers congregate, that is through the Rising Initiative community interventions which are aiming to reach to the most vulnerable children and their caregivers through IYCF and ECD corners and home visitation.
The enumerators will receive training in the tools and material. They will carry out the data collection on diets of children 6-23 months and barriers experiences by caregivers in feeding nutritious diets to these children. They will also carry out the pre-test of the questionnaire and provide feedback in revising the questionnaire following the pre-testing results. The enumerators will conduct the field survey under the supervision of the Assessment Coordinator.
II. General Responsibilities
- Participate in the training organized for enumerators.
- Participate in pre-testing of questionnaire.
- Provide feedback in revising the questionnaire following the pre-testing results.
- Conduct the field survey under the supervision of the Assessment Coordinator.
- Ensure the collection of all required data based on a fixed schedule and adjust as requested by the supervisor.
- Report to the supervisor as needed.
- Attend IOCC’s meetings and training sessions when needed.

IV.Working Conditions
- Based in Akkar to carry out the field survey in the assigned location.
- Conduct field work with the assigned driver and car.
V.Education and qualification:
- Education: BSc. in Nutrition, BSc. in Nursing,
- Experience: Relevant experience surveys, experience in Kobocollect.
- Competency: Computer literate & familiarity with the use of tablets.
