Key tasks Responsibilities
- Acts as a support back stopper for a team of Psychosocial support animators/facilitators in Burj El Shamali camp center, Tyre.
- Acts as a focused nonspecialized PSS and child protection case management officer.
- Follow up children in need for extra support related to emotional, behavioral, relational, and other difficulties including Child Protection concerns of abuse.
- Receiving internal referral from the center animators and other referrals from community as well from other service providers.
- Validate animators’ observations related to referred children and asses their condition and needs using standardized and validated case file tools.
- Follow up children in need for focused nonspecialized PSS. Assessing children and identify difficulties, develop a focused PSS follow up plan with specific PSS support that meets the need for each case, conduct individual sessions with goals and tasks that will help children meet goals.
- Permanent guidance for the animators/facilitators in contact with the child (giving instructions, and information about suitable adaptations of activities within the group of children that serves in the intervention plan for a child in focused PSS)
- Follow up children in child in need for protection under case management CPCM standard operating procedures using CPCM file for the cases identified under any type of child abuse. Creating and monitoring Intervention plan to help reduce or eliminate the aggravating of CP concerns, update on any changes in schedules or re-organize children`s follow up plan as needed.
- Coordinate with and refer to the mental health specialist/ psychologist when the case needs higher level of specialized intervention as required, develop intervention plan accordingly with the mental health specialist through a case meeting.
- Conduct visits, meeting with stakeholders within the process of case management and other outreach services as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided to clients.
- Ensure the confidentiality of client’s according to data protection standards.
- Assess and report the most serious cases which require specific actions or responses.
- Preparing and delivering group activities and awareness sessions for caregivers on topics which serves as self-reflected caregivers /parent support, as well as on topics related to child protection and child development and other mental health topics.
- Support the facilitators in organizing and running recreational and sport activities, socialization for children and Youth.
- Establish a service mapping and conduct regular awareness raising sessions with target community.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly report as required.
Work Experience:
Minimum two years of experience in the domain of NGOs or relevant work experience in mental Health and Psychosocial Support programs, experience in Child Protection programs, and any other continuing professional development is an advantage.
Candidates must have the appropriate skills and training using proven quality and safety methods which underpins the delivery of a mental health and child protection service
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in assessment process, evaluation and technical training
- Understanding of Protection Principles, Case Management and Survivor-Centered Care
- Communication skills: Be able to effectively relay instructions and communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders taking part in childcare, be able to listen to children and caregivers to help meet their needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for Right Holders (Clients)
- Demonstrate understanding of working with children in particularly vulnerable children
- Positive, Professional attitude and able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to details
- Ability to work as a team member
- good computer skills for detailed record-keeping and familiarity reporting requirements
- Flexible and responsive to program challenges
- Self-Motivated, Interaction, and teamwork
