Implement the daily field activities under the supervision of the PHP Supervisor to deliver objectives and tasks on-time and to high quality, being able to propose innovative and pertinent ideas to the challenges encountered.
Participate in public health promotion campaigns with community mobilisation, conduct house to house monitoring of hygiene promotion, prepare public health promotion plans, prepare written material for the field with adapted messages and channel for the target audience.
Objective 1: Elaboration of public health promotion material (30%)
1 Design and prepare written and visual materials for public health promotion and COVID-10 awareness sessions.
2 To identify the most appropriate message and channel regarding the target population for public health promotion.
3 Write clear and understandable message for public health promotion, adapting the message to the targeted public.
4 Evaluate and prepare the necessary material needed for a campaign/activity.
5 Identify problems and provide sustainable changes of WASH Knowledge, Aptitudes and Practices of communities at risk.
Objective 2: Community engagement for PHP (30 %)
1 Participating in the selection, mentoring and training of Community Mobilizers, Focal Points and WASH Committees on capacity building, communication skills, Safe Referral, WASH and COVID-19.
2 Sharing information to promote key behavioural changes for hygiene promotion through community engagement.
3 Addressing the needs of the most vulnerable through public health promotion at community level.
Objective 3: House to house visits and public health promotion campaign (20 %)
1 Engage with households and at community level to raise awareness of the importance of good hygiene practices and public health promotion.
2 Participate in hygiene campaign world days, doing shows in informal tents, schools and at community level.
3 Animate focus group giving for children, youth or adults (men and women) providing clear messages
4 Ensure the work is properly done and the material use wisely.
Objective 4: Field monitoring and reporting (10 %)
1 Following the weekly and monthly planning of the programme team, report back accurately and regularly in a clear manner on field level activities.
2 Identify and report possible problems, conflicts or contextual changes to the PHP Supervisor, proposing solutions where possible and pertinent.
3 Monitor and track all field activities and deliveries, ensuring compliance and efficient use of resources and materials.
4 Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries.
5 Alongside the MEAL department, facilitate regular monitoring and evaluation of field activities, conduct baseline and end line KAP Surveys and WASH HH
assessments
Objective 5: Other water and sanitation activities (10 %)
1 Conduct household assessment.
2 Distribution of water and sanitation items.
3 Support other WASH related activities.
Objective 6: Security
1 Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
2 Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan
Objective 7: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
1 Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
2 Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
3 Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work
Objective 8: Gender & Safeguarding
Promote safe and equitable environments, through knowledge and application of the protocol against harassment and gender policy.
Knowledge and compliance with safeguarding policy.
Support in all other wash activities implemented by ACF.
Candidate Desciption:
Bachelor of public health, education, social sciences or related fields
Strong communication skills, used to speak in public and work dynamically with adults and children
Experience in hygiene promotion and/or public health promotion. Knowledge of direct community work with vulnerable or at risk communities. Experience animating sessions with children, youth and adults with a participative methodology. Experience in community mobilization and participation
Ability to work in a team Ability to manage stress effectively Ability to manage time and priorities well Clear communicator with excellent inter-personal skills Ability to work with a degree of autonomy on set tasks
Experience in the humanitarian sector in a similar position, collaboration with other partners, NGOs.
