- Develop AVSI Lebanon community engagement activities
- Develop community engagement approaches and rolls out activities to support and enhance quality, effectiveness and expand outreach of Education and Livelihoods interventions.
- Supports Education and Livelihoods programs in the analysis of existing behavioural data as well as gender/cultural barriers and develops risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) materials and approaches to promote behaviour change.
- Participates in inter-agency fora on risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) to ensure CEA issues are mainstreamed into AVSI Lebanon interventions and that community engagement efforts and programs/services are coordinated to meet the specific needs of affected people and act on their feedback.
- Supports the application of innovative and participatory communication and community engagement approaches that enable communities to adopt behaviours that create safe, healthier practices.
- Develop internal guidelines, minimum standards and SOPs for community engagement, outreach, and risk communication.
- Strengthen AVSI Lebanon AAP and PSEA frameworks
- Monitor the implementation of AVSI Lebanon AAP framework and PSEA frameworks.
- Conducting regular field visits to AVSI project locations to monitor the implementation and visibility of FCRM.
- Ensure programs and responses are designed with the involvement and input of community members, including men, women, boys, girls, and any marginalized or at-risk groups
- Train or brief programme and operations staff, volunteers, and partners on AVSI CAAP the minimum standards for CEA.
- Raise awareness on the complaint mechanisms in place among beneficiaries and targeted communities, as well as key external stakeholders.
- Conduct Focus Group Discussions and field visits with beneficiaries and targeted communities to collect feedback and complaints.
- Consult beneficiaries and target communities for feedback on the complaint mechanisms and the referral system in place, as well as for referring identified protection issues.
- Attend information orientation sessions (IOS) to disseminate knowledge on the feedback and complaints response mechanism.
- Enhance community engagement through community participation and information sharing as well as contributing to establishing an effective system that can feed back into projects design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Support AVSI community-based approach
- Support HoP in assessing, monitoring, and evaluating potential and existing partners including community-based organisations (CBOs) and national governmental organisations (NGOs) using AVSI Lebanon guidelines.
- Liase with communities, including local authorities, key representatives, leaders, and influencing members to ensure community engagement around AVSI Lebanon activities.
- Regularly share information about the programme or response with community members, using the best approaches to reach different groups.
- Support AVSI Lebanon partners in enhancing their capacity in CEA and MEAL.
- Provide AAP support and guidance to programmes
- Develop AAP minimum standards for CVA interventions
- Train staff on AVSI CAAP and minimum standards of CEA, including on their role and responsibility in meeting these commitments and standards.
- Advise MEAL colleagues to ensure needs assessments are transparent and participatory, and capture a thorough understanding of the context, peoples’ needs and priorities, and use the most appropriate approaches for community engagement
- Ensure programmes and responses are designed with the involvement and input of community members, including men, women, boys, girls, and any marginalized or at-risk groups
- Ensure programme and response evaluations involve communities, including asking if they are satisfied with the programme or response, how it was delivered, and what could be improved.
- Support the development of gender- and age-sensitive awareness materials on the feedback and complaints response mechanism in place.
- Contribute to the development of specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to run the complaint and feedback mechanism.
- Document, report and disseminate lesson learnt on CEA
- Supports MEAL colleagues in their efforts to document, review and improve humanitarian interventions in relevant, responsive, inclusive, accessible, and effective way.
- Provide regular information management reports and analyses on CEA trends to AVSI Lebanon management and staff.
- Support the monitoring of progress, produce case studies on good practice and lessons learned, and when needed response to donor reporting requirements.
- Contribute to information sharing mechanisms to improve transparency and participation.
- Work closely with Education and Livelihoods teams to support with collecting, collating, presenting and otherwise managing information for accountability related reports.
- Support MEAL Manager on developing a strategy for FCRM promotion internally and externally.
- Ensuring transparent communication of information sharing of AVSI actions build on previous beneficiary’s consultations and participation.
