Purpose of the role
The Database Officer is responsible for ensuring correct data entry, supporting reporting on project activities and in producing data analysis for internal programme learning. The Database Officer will also play a key role in building the capacity of the related programme team members in data entry/cleaning and data validation.
What you will do
- Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Support in the preparation and the implementation of regular reports and assessments.
- Provide training on data entry and data analysis to related programme team in Beirut and Mount Lebanon depending on needs.
- Facilitate and contribute to Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning activities of the related programme.
- Perform ongoing monitoring of, and provide feedback on how to improve, the programme’s data collection, entry, storage, analysis, and presentation.
- Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and report any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.
- Ensure that all protection related detected cases are referred to the concerned referral focal point and to the related Protection Coordinator.
Specifically, you will;
- Contribute to the methodological design for the collection of relevant information and data, and prepare written reports and maps, including input for weekly and monthly updates about the progamme.
- Work in close collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation unit on monitoring indicators and the impact of program activities at the area level.
- Facilitate and support the evaluation plan implemented by the Monitoring and Evaluation unit.
- Work closely with the related programme team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely reporting on project’s activities.
- Contribute to the analysis of data collected within the framework of NRC programs.
- Update data and activity reports in the online indicator monitoring systems and activity info.
- Contribute to the implementation of tools for monitoring indicators, dashboards ,and databases.
- Produce regular (monthly and/or quarterly) statistical analysis reports with thematic geographical maps in relation to all the data (assessments and interventions carried out and needs of the NRC program).
- Conduct field visits with the related programme team as well as assist in data entry when needed.
- Assist in preparing for and conducting stand-alone and multi-sectorial assessments in BML, as well as Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews and calling people of concern, when needed.
- Training the related programme team on data entry, data cleaning and data validation.
- Perform any other related tasks as requested by the line manager.
Professional competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Management, Social Work, Social Sciences, Economics, or other relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian/development sector.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Experience in providing workshops and training (desirable).
- Knowledge of database relationships and programming fundamentals is a plus.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel with advanced expertise in MS Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
