JOB SUMMARY
The Protection Coordinator provide technical backstopping to the team. She shall maintain close coordination with the protection sector working group and all the related groups to provide info on CL operations and update regularly the SoPs. The Protection Coordinator should stay connected with the Head of the Protection Department regularly and supervise the work of all the technical staff in the protection centres for all nationalities.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
•Contribute to the elaboration of donors’ proposals in collaboration with the Head of Department and upon request.
•Ensure that CL work and services are in line with international norms and standards through the development of internal SOPs and tools.
•Ensure that the services are delivered with a high-quality assurance.
•Monitor the implementation of the SOPs and tools in the case management of GBV, CP, PWSN PWD and other related protection components.
•Raise gaps in response services and referral protocols to the HOD.
•Provide trainings, capacity building and mentoring of staff on minimum protection standards.
•Conduct regular supervision meetings with all protection Officers providing technical advice on case management, protection cash assistance programs and emergency cash assistance.
•Propose improvements of the Protection Tools as needed.
•Oversee the quality of case management services delivered.
•Oversee the implementation of the technical components in line with the proposals planned targets and budgets and report on challenges in the implementation of the program.
•Provide regular weekly, monthly and progress reports to HOD and ensure submission of reports in a timely manner.
•Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities and programs.
•Convene regular meetings internally and externally to develop referral mechanisms and ensure quality and adequacy in referrals in line with Caritas internal SOPs.
•Review and analyze projects’ data to identify protection trends, reporting, referral and response.
•Ensure effective beneficiary complaints and feedback mechanisms are implemented and followed up, in close coordination with the M&E Unit.
•Represent Caritas Lebanon at the National Protection Working Group meetings and core group meetings and other related groups and as per the management request.
•Prepare and update the organigram of the protection unit including the staff lists in conjunction with the HOD.
•Convene regular visits on the field.
•Report on the achievements, challenges and staff queries to the HOD.
Generic Duties
•Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures.
•Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
•Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls.
•Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager.
•Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic:
•Bachelor Degree in Social Work / Human Rights or related domain
Other Qualifications:
•Strong understanding of the protection sector (Types and needs of disability, GBV, CP, PWSN, migration…)
•Ability to communicate and inspire others
•Ability to manage multiple tasks, efficient task prioritization and time management
•Ability to establish and maintain relationships
•Basic knowledge in inclusion
•Computer literacy (MS Office, WORD, EXCEL, PP, e-mail, Internet)
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to operate under pressure while prioritizing tasks and providing guidance to subordinate
•Ability to listen and provide solutions
•Ability to operate outside working schedule
Related Work Experience:
•7 years of experience in related field + with I/NGOs / UN agencies with similar responsibilities, overseeing a big team and a multi-donor funding portfolio.
Language skills:
•English, French and Arabic
Computer Literacy:
•MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level Microsoft Office applications
