Job Purpose
The team Medic's primary responsibility is to oversee all medical operations at their designated operational site and to ensure that the team's medical equipments and medical administrative documents are kept in functioning order in accordance with MAG Medical SOPs and MTP guidelines.
Medic is formally accountable for accurate tracking of all controlled medications.
In addition to adhering to all the medical responsibilities outlined in the MAG Medical SOPs and MTP, the team Medic should also possess the necessary skills and licensing to operate the ambulance or evacuation vehicle.
Principal Responsibilities
- To have a thorough understanding of all programme Operational SOP’s.
- Responsible for the correct and timely diagnosis, treatment and advice on medical problems of team members.
- Offering guidance to all personnel on hygiene and measures for preventing diseases.
- Refer any medical issues beyond the scope of Medic’s training to the Medical Supervisor and/ or Medical Coordinator.
- Must have easy access to the area in which team members are working.
- Ensure that the ambulance is parked outside the dangerous area.
- Ensure that all medical stores and equipments are clean and serviceable.
- Secure all medical equipment at the conclusion of the work period.
- Report any damage or discrepancies in medical equipments to HMA Site Supervisor and Medical Coordinator as soon as possible.
Reporting
The Medic will report all immediate medical concerns involving the worksites and the teams to the HMA Site Supervisor. The SS will be his/ her first point of contact. The concerns will be evaluated by the SS and then reported to the FOM who will report to the medical coordinator/ Medic supervisor and NTFM.
All medical equipment requests, leave requests and absenteeism will be made by the Medic directly to the Medical Coordinator.
Physical and Qualification Requirements
- Qualification as a certified paramedic is a requirement.
- Proficiency in filing systems and data entry is essential.
- Proficiency in reading and writing in Arabic is necessary, and preferably in English.
- Competency in computer applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is mandatory.
- A good understanding of relevant MAG operational reporting formats is a must.
- Physical and mental fitness is a prerequisite.
GENERAL
All MAG staff is expected to undertake the following general duties:

- Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
