The accountant will be responsible to prepare and maintain financial reporting, budget management, monthly forecasting, audit activities, and daily accounting tasks. He/she will manage MENA Rosa’s day-to-day financial activities and prepare, oversee, manage, and maintain the Network’s financial records/data.
Roles and Responsibilites:
- -Provides support in preparing all financial transaction and ensures that they are correctly charged to proper budget lines and signs them with the Regional Coordinator.
- – Ensures that all financial transactions and financial records are accurately documented and maintained in hard and soft copies (using the proper coding methods).
- – Bookkeeping for all MENA Rosa’s accounts using the computer-based accounting system.
- – Manages and verifies meeting all MENA Rosa’s financial obligations and agreements.
- – Ensures that payments and purchases follow MENA Rosa’s financial procedures.
- – Reviews financial reports sent by partners and ensures that they are prepared and submitted according to MENA Rosa and donor’s rules, procedures, and timeline.
- – Organizes MENA Rosa's finances and each project's allocated funds.
– Supports the Project Coordinator and Project Officer in preparing and maintaining project budgets.
– Assists Project Coordinator and Project Officer in preparing financial reports for each project.
– Assists Project Coordinator and Project Officer in preparing each project’s spending plans and forecasting for donor reporting.
– Produces financial statements as required.
– Prepares payrolls and payments and signs them with the Regional Coordinator.
– Monitors the process of receiving installments and transferring payments for each project.
– Ensures that financial practices align with MENA Rosa’s financial policies, procedures, and code of ethics. - Education Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, accounting certificate, or a related field.
- Experience:
– At least five years of experience in finance and accounting functions.
– Preferred NGO experience in delivering financial reports and reporting requirements. - Technical Abilities:
- – Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- – Knowledge of computer-based accounting systems.
– Knowledge of the payroll system. - Personality & Behavioral Competencies:
