DCA Lebanon has worked in mine action since 2007. In addition to reducing the harm from explosion, clearance activities also release contaminated land for socio-economic development in the context of rising demands from the local and refugee population. In 2012, DCA began implementing humanitarian and development projects through local partners and scaled up its operations in 2021 due to the deepening crisis in country.

Role
The overall objective of this role is supporting our team in providing timely and effective assistance to internally displaced people (IDPs) during emergency situations. The key focus will be on data entry, distribution of hygiene and food kits, and offering support to IDPS during distribution of kits or other emergency response activities. The volunteer is also expected to facilitate coordination among DCA and partner’s team members to ensure a seamless flow of work.
Purpose:
DCA will be providing timely and effective emergency response activities in areas where IDPs are hosted.
Responsibilities
- Accurately enter relevant data into the designated databases.
- Maintain data confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols.
- Assist in the organized distribution of kits.
- Provide assistance and support to IDPs in the different distribution locations.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and activities.
- Report challenges or bottlenecks to the designated supervisor for prompt resolution.
- Facilitate communication among team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of distributed items and data entry activities.
- Prepare regular reports as required by the project manager or coordinator.
Background
- Previous experience in volunteering or similar roles is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills for data entry tasks.
- Compassion, patience, and sensitivity when working with vulnerable populations.
Reporting
- Regular reports on the performance and services will be submitted to program team members on a weekly basis.
- Regular check-ins and feedback sessions will be conducted to ensure effective coordination and support.
