INTRODUCTION
The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), legally registered with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities since 2008. Its mission is to provide support to Palestinian refugee women and youth and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon to develop their capacities, realize their rights, and fulfill their needs. This is achieved through Protection, Education, Livelihood, and Humanitarian Assistance programs implemented in eight Palestinian refugee camps and surroundings throughout Lebanon.
The Women's Programs Association is currently in the process of recruiting a Field Worker for the “Skills Training & Empowerment for Palestinian Youth – STEP” project funded by Right To Play. This position will be based at WPA’s El Buss center in Tyre.
Job Purpose
To support and facilitate the educational and personal growth of young people.
Responsibilities
The Field worker will be under the direct technical supervision of the Project Officer. The incumbent will be responsible to:
- Prepare the field task and activities in coordination with the Project officer and maintain day-to-day relations with the beneficiaries;
- Participate in outreach for beneficiaries and inform about the project and attract new beneficiaries;
- Ensure the enrolment and registration of participants in the different project activities and sessions;
- Follow up with participants, by communicating with them to ensure their regular attendance;
- Ensure to always have all material available for the activities and that the materials are securely restored;
- Responsible for documenting project’s activities through video, photos, success stories… for WPA’s website and donors’ reports; and positively interact with participants and encouraging them to express their feelings, needs, and stories;
- Participate in internal weekly/ monthly meetings regarding the activities of the project, challenges, progress, successes, and lessons learned.
- Collect and report all information relative to the activities and submit weekly and monthly reports to project officer; and
- Prepare and participate in activities, seminars and workshops organized by WPA.
- Perform any other assigned activities as required for project’s success.
Qualifications
- Vocational or Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, Education or related field
- Two to four years of cumulative experience in implementing community development activities, preferably projects that engage multiple parites including NGOs or humanitarian agencies, and local community stakeholders
- Previous experience in field work with adolescents and youth
