The Shelter and WASH Officer will be based primarily in Save the Children's North Area Office and will manage the day-to-day implementation of components of Save the Children's Shelter and WASH renovation of schools in the north area including Akkar.
The Shelter and WASH Officer will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation of schools and addressing Shelter and WASH conditions in northern Lebanon. This position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities aimed at ensuring access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water and sanitation services while improving shelter conditions.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Urban Planning or another Built Environment related field.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Extended work experience in international and local NGOS (3 years’ experience minimum).
- Experience in project management and team management.
- Experience in working on shelter and construction/rehabilitation projects in emergencies and post emergencies.
- Computer knowledge (proficient in Word and Excel).
- Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities.
