Thread of Peace, commonly known as House of Peace started to form as a local initiative in 2012 but was officially registered in 2019. The organization was formed by a group of young people who were together searching for meaning and for a sense of belonging during a time of change. Their diverse backgrounds and common purpose made them a valuable team, giving humanitarian assistance to displaced people, hoping that the message of hope would spread through their diversity to contribute to building a better future. The “family” formed gradually grew and its mission persisted despite the fact that many of its founders have moved on. The “House of Peace” thrived as a virtual house holding an ever-expanding family with a humanitarian mission of promoting peace in society and advocating for conflict sensitivity.

Our Mission 

Threads of Peace, commonly known as House of Peace, is a local non-governmental organization established in 2015 in Lebanon. We are a team with diverse backgrounds and expertise, sharing similar values. We exist to support social peace, mainstream conflict sensitivity, and promote the well-being of different communities, civil society actors, the private sector, and the public sector.

Our Core Values  

We as a team and individually are guided by the values of non-violence, participation, diversity, the promotion of a supportive environment, accountability, and development. Our understanding of each of these core values is outlined below.

We strive to avoid harm and promote peace alternatives to violence.

We believe in the right of every individual to have the opportunity to actively engage in decision-making processes, activities, and issues that affect their lives and communities.

  1. Project Coordinator:
  • Job Brief:

The Project Coordinator is part of the Social Peace Unit that is entrusted with supporting the development of community-based.

She/He will Lead the development of community-based initiatives in alignment with the framework established by FSGT in Palestine.

Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring they adhere to the foundation set by FSGT, fostering collaboration in the process.

Collaborate with team members to build upon the foundation provided by FSGT, creating a shared basis for our collective work.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Sports Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our sports program, ensuring effective project management, team coordination, and successful implementation of activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a passion for sports and community engagement.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Sports Program Management:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive activities calendar.
  • Implement and oversee various sports activities.
  • Monitor financial and administrative aspects of the program.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Act as an intermediary between local partners and the coordination team in France.
  • Keep track of project details and provide information for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in technical committees to contribute valuable insights.
  • Team Composition and Leadership:
  • Lead and animate groups effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork management skills.
  • Activities Cycle:
  • Create and implement an activity schedule, fostering innovative initiatives.
  • Organize events with a focus on logistics and public relations.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders to enhance program impact.
  • Exchange of Practices:
  • Facilitate the exchange of skills acquired during trainings in France.
  • Collaborate with French trainers to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Support Process:
  • Act as the focal point for project organization.
  • Serve as an intermediary between the coordination team and local training teams.
  • Management of Sporting Material:
  • Purchase equipment in compliance with French development agency standards.
  • Manage day-to-day gear logistics efficiently.
  • Communication:
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the program's website.
  • Demonstrate digital skills for effective communication.
  • Lead institutional meetings, particularly with city halls, for project purposes.
  • Languages:
  • Possess an advanced level of English for effective communication.
  • Requirements and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in sports management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in sports programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in digital communication tools.
  • Familiarity with French development agency standards is a plus.
  • Teamwork and cooperative attitude.
  • Good computing skills.
  • Ability to work in partnership with local communities and NGOs.
  • Ability to travel out of Lebanon.
