About this Role
We are actively searching for an Economic Inclusion and Livelihoods Officer to work with us to expand and grow our professional skills training and livelihood activities. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, alongside technical expertise in coordinating entrepreneurship and livelihood initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The Economic Inclusion and Livelihoods Officer (EIL) is responsible for ensuring that Bedayati’s entrepreneurship and skills training programs are effectively implemented and managed. The EIL Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Bedayati Director.
The incumbent will:
- Lead the effective management and timely implementation of program activities to ensure achievement of results and delivery of outputs and activities, as per relevant project document(s);
- Develop internal monitoring and operational plans to help track program implementation against annual work-plan and targets, revising the scope, schedule, or budget as necessary to ensure that program requirements are met;
- Develop and implement a strategy for the targeting and identification of project participants, providing one-on-one counseling to women and youth participants to assess their profile, needs, and eligibility for project activities;
- Provide one-on-one follow-up advisory employment services support to Bedayati trainees, making external referrals as necessary;
- Monitor financial resources and accounting of all livelihood activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reports;
- Ensure adherence of activities to Bedayati financial, procurement, and administrative processes and regulations, and respective donor (s) rules and regulations;
- Lead the planning and organization of program events and capacity-building activities, including identifying and sourcing the necessary technical expertise and support;
- Manage experts and service providers through planning, implementing, and monitoring the delivery of outputs and activities;
- Procure relevant equipment/materials as required for program activities, following Bedayati procurement policies;
- Ensure proper project(s) documentation and records keeping as per the administrative requirements of Bedayati and relevant donor(s);
- Build and develop the program team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation;
- Ensure that Bedayati’s core values and guidelines are effectively reflected in all project activities;
- Support the design of new economic inclusion and livelihood initiatives, in line with Bedayati’s strategy and program objectives.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- A university degree or equivalent in business administration or relevant field;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and management of economic inclusion and livelihood activities;
- Experience in project management, program coordination, and monitoring;
- Previous experience cooperating with international donors, government and municipal authorities, and/or the private sector is a plus;
- Excellent written and oral Arabic and English skills. Knowledge of French is an asset;
- Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, deadlines, and budgetary guidelines;
- Good teamwork skills and ability to manage a team;
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills;
- Strong work ethic, a commitment to work excellence, and adherence to Bedayati core values;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
This a full-time in-person commitment of 40 working hours/week, Monday through Friday.
