Working Context
WeWorld has been working in Lebanon since 2006 and is now supporting vulnerable populations in Lebanon through WASH, shelter, basic assistance and protection interventions aiming at increasing the resilience of the concerned communities, in North Bekaa (Baalbek-Hermel Governorate) and in Akkar. We work to return dignity to entire communities; we fight poverty and injustice so that the fundamental rights of every person can be recognized. Our interventions aim to increase the population’s resilience, enhancing a community’s capacity to find, within its fabric, the skills and resources necessary to grow in a self-sufficient manner. Our staff is the key to achieving ambitious goals. With nearly 770 professionals employed and 250 partners, over the past 12 months WeWorld has reached 1.4 million people. The organization’s programmes are co-funded by the most important humanitarian and development aid donors such as EU (DEVCO, EACEA, ECHO, NEAR), United Nations (OCHA, UNHCR, UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, FAO) and individual countries (AICS, JICA, France and Dutch Embassies) as well as by private donors and foundations. The challenges that characterize the environments we work in are tackled by creating innovative synergies that draw on teamwork, multi-disciplinary experiences and by pairing international and local expertise. Job Position
The Project Manager will be a strategic staff in the WeWorld Lebanon Mission, as well as key in ensuring smooth coordination among the partners (ANA AQRA and ARC en CIEL), high quality implementation and objectives achievement of the “ANA KAMEN: Inclusive and quality education in three communities in Akkar Governorate” project. She/he will ensure technical standards are defined, shared, and used across the project, and that the quality of the project standards is nationally accepted and recommended.
Concretely, she/he commits to providing technical expertise in the achievement of the activities related to promoting access to inclusive and quality educational services for the Lebanese population and vulnerable refugees, with a specific focus on children with disabilities, through the rehabilitation and energy efficiency of school buildings; the implementation of retention support programs and early childhood educational services; the strengthening of the capacity of teaching staff; direct support to children with disabilities; and raising awareness of educating communities on the inclusion and protection of vulnerable groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Project Manager will:
· In collaboration with the partners and relevant technical staff, lead and oversee a high-quality implementation of the project, inclusive of people with disabilities, in safe, protected and respectful learning environment
· Ensure the technical and methodological soundness of activities, and in collaboration with the project team and partners, support the design and rollout of education activities taking contextual sensitivities into account.
· Contribute to research, learning and monitoring, and in collaboration and consultation with the donor and other stakeholders, refine and adjust technical approaches and annual work plans to achieve the project goals
· Ensure timely delivery and reporting of project activities (e.g. monitoring against the logframe, individual performance management, work plans etc.)
· Collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), the Centre for Education Research and Development (CERD), the Education sector, local communities and other stakeholders to promote sustainability, efficiency, and the adoption of successful program gains and strategies into the national education system
· Ensure the day-to-day management of technical field staff and consultants
· Ensure sound management of the project budget, and oversee and report on expenditure and budget burn rate
· Document and disseminate innovation and good practices
· Prepare high-quality, evidence-based and timely reports for senior management and/or donors as required
· Represent the program as required at relevant public events, coordination and representation meetings involving local stakeholders, authorities, NGOs, donor etc..
· Assist in the production of communication material and contribute to the design of dissemination strategies
· Collaborate and coordinate with other WeWorld departments, including MEAL, finance and logistics
· Other assigned tasks, as necessary to the project and WeWorld country program

Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Knowledge
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field required, Master’s Degree preferred
· Fluency in written and spoken English
· Good skills in Office tools, including formatting, layout and graphics
· A valid driving license
Professional experience
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a relevant senior-level project implementation role
· Proven experience with impact-driven implementation of activities and team and budget management
Skills and Abilities
· Ability to analyze the context situation, identify threats and opportunities, and propose practical solutions and alternatives. Develops clear goals that are realistic and consistent with agreed strategies; identifies priority activities and assignments, plans own work and manages conflicting priorities. Incorporate a strong gender perspective and ensure the equal participation of women and youth in all areas of work
· Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; makes effective a two-way communication; demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people updated
· Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve programs and organizational goals; shares credit for team accomplishments and accepts joint responsibility for team shortcomings
· Takes ownership of all responsibilities and commitments; delivers outputs within the deadline; operates in compliance with organizational regulations and rules, AAP and the humanitarian principles
· Sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to think creatively and innovate and to set manageable priorities and work plans and evaluate progress
· Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations
· Creativity and willingness to adjust to changes and new requirements.
· Ability to travel extensively within project areas as required
· Demonstrates integrity with regards to WeWorld values and ethical standards

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
· Knowledge of Italian and/or Arabic is considered an advantage
· Previous working experiences in Lebanon and/or middle-east

WHAT WE OFFER
Type of contract: a first 3 (three) month collaboration contract subject to verification of the achievement of specific objectives (these objectives will be agreed together with the Line Manager upon arrival on assignment); a second collaboration contract of 3 (three) months, following the positive evaluation of the first months of contract
Economic conditions: to be defined according to WeWorld Expatriates Compensation Policy: Base Salary (seniority/role held) + Contributions (role complex, housing and hardship based on place of work; schooling, flights for children and insurance coverage for children)
Other conditions: Tax Treatment: equal tax treatment between Italian and foreign residents is guaranteed
Annual leave: 2,5 days/month (working days)
Flight ticket: one return flight
