- Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions, including income, expenses, grants, and donations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of ledgers and journal vouchers.
- Manage the procurement process, including vendor selection and negotiation of contracts.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders in line with departmental requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts and monitor actual expenses against budgeted amounts and provide regular reports on budget performance.
- Oversee payment procedures, including verifying invoices and processing payments and maintain proper documentation of all transactions.
- Ensure proper archiving and record-keeping of financial documents in accordance with regulatory and company policies.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal management and donors.
- Oversee the financial aspects of grants and funds received by the organization.
- Ensure compliance with grant terms and prepare financial reports for donors.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
- Manage bank accounts, including reconciliations and deposits.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, donor requirements, and internal policies.
- Facilitate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Manage employee payroll and ensure compliance with labour laws and tax regulations.
Organizational Responsibilities:
– Respond to all requests promptly and support team members when needed.
– Perform relevant administrative duties as requested.
– Assist other teams as required.
Requirements:
– Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
– 1-5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably in NGOs.
– Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
– Proficiency in accounting software as well as Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel.
– Familiar with financial regulations, tax laws, and Lebanese regulations.
– Familiar with audit reporting.
– Familiar with funding policies of international donors.
– Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
– Fluent in Arabic and English.
