The IRC is currently working in over 25 countries around the world, addressing both immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people in emergencies and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies.
Job Overview/Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Education Manager, the Education Program support Assistant will be responsible of tracking projects procurement and expenditures, preparing monthly payments, and supporting the Akkar Education team with other tasks as required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Education program expenses by updating the internal PR tracking sheet and comparing it with the PR tracking sheet prepared by supply chain.
- Prepare and track outreach volunteers and the Inclusion focal points payments monthly.
- Coordinating and managing Purchase Requests for project needs from the national and Akkar field offices.
- Follow up with Finance and Supply Chain, for all payments and procurement related matters on a national and field levels.
- Manage available items in the storage area and support with the preparation of distribution plans.
- Book meeting rooms and transportation when needed.
- Maintain updated database for the program.
- Develop and maintain a transparent and easy to access filing system for office documents (Program, HR department, Supply Chain, Finance), receipts, attendance sheets, waybills, etc..
- Prepare payment for education services in the field in accordance with signed Memorandum of Understanding.
- Other administrative duties supporting the Education Department and related payments as assigned.

- External: other NGOs working in education in Akkar
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Social Sciences, or related field
- 1 year experience in administrative work
- Experience in Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Team player
- Attentive to details
Travel and other requirements: The position will be based in Akkar, with some travel required between the governorates and the main IRC office in Beirut when needed.
