Under the close supervision of the Deputy HR Manager, the HR Assistant assists the in carrying out administrative work and preparing and updating documents for delivering HR services, in line with the ICRC’s and delegation’s policies and the applicable laws and regulations.
Objectives and Tasks:
- Provides general secretarial and administrative support (updating staff files and contracts, handling correspondence, NSSF registration, filing, archiving, etc.).
- Keep records (e.g. employee data, absences, etc.) and ensures that HR data is of good quality and kept up to date.
- Provides reports through charts and dashboards on absences and leave management.
- Provides administrative follow-up for recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Participates in the recruitment process including preparing job advertisements, prescreening, shortlisting, testing, scheduling, reference checks and contract preparation in accordance with procedures.
- Ensures the proper electronic and paper storage of an updated – signed and approved – job description for resident staff.
- Ensures that the information on HR issues under their responsibility is shared with the concerned team members.
- Carries out procedures related to local HR practice, taxes and social security.
General duties:
- Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct.
- Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Always respects and observes staff regulations and security rules.
- Always represents the ICRC in a professional manner.
- Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers.
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Additional Duties:
- Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.
- Is aware of the delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position.
- Collects and shares information to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses.
- Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image.
- Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Years of experience required: 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably at an International/Non-Governmental Organization.
Level of education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Field of education: Human resources.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English, French is a strong asset.
Computer Literacy: Advanced computer skills in MS Windows and MS Office Suite.

Job Details:
- Job Location: Beirut, Lebanon.
- Working Schedule: Monday till Friday, from 8 Am till 5 Pm.
- Contract Type: Determined Period, until 31.12.2024 (renewable based on performance and need for position).
- Salary Package: 1,570 – 2,641 USD/Month (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
