Live Love Lebanon is a dynamic and dedicated nonprofit organization aiming to build empowered communities that create hope and positive impact for Nature, Society, and Culture in Lebanon and globally. Our mission is to empower individuals and promote sustainable development through various programs and initiatives. Over the years, we have mobilized over 80,000 volunteers to work collectively on social, humanitarian, environmental, and cultural projects. Our online presence, with 1.5 million active followers worldwide and 1.5 billion annual impressions, aims not only to share the beauty of Lebanon but also to highlight issues and encourage social inclusion, gender empowerment, equality, and positive environment engagement. We implement a range of programs and projects that tackle key issues in Lebanon and internationally. These range from youth engagement, environmental protection, waste management, tourism and economic development, heritage preservation, disaster management, capacity building, communications and collaborative governance.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain the organization's financial record-keeping system, including scanning and filing all relevant documentation.
  • Reconcile financial transactions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipt vouchers and general ledger entries, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist the finance manager in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by organizing and categorizing financial data and assisting in journal entry preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with finance & accounting policies, procedures, and regulations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist the finance manager in the coordination of financial audits and tax filings by preparing and organizing relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with departments to support financial planning and budgeting activities as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards & regulations and implement updates as necessary.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or demonstrated success in relevant professional fields and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technically proficient with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Proficiency in working with different accounting programs.
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with NGOs is a plus.
