فرص عمل لدى منظمة Danmission: مطلوب مدير برنامج (Programme Manager)
You will be part of a team of programme managers and in charge of our cooperation with MENA partners working on issues related to faith, hope, resilience, stewardship, and social action for sustainable development.
Danmission in MENA
Danmission is an independent Danish NGO connected to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark. Danmission has worked with partners in MENA for more than 100 years. We are registered in Lebanon and have our regional office in Beirut, covering Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt. The office has a Danish Regional Director and 6 Lebanese staff, including 3 programme managers, two persons working on finance and administration, and a communication officer.
About the Job
You will be the primary day-to-day contact person between Danmission and partners working on peace and dialogue, including interreligious dialogue. Some key tasks will include guiding partners in Danmission’s methodologies within all steps of the project cycle, writing reports, monitoring projects, and developing new project opportunities together with the partners. There will be a strong focus on supporting the partners and providing capacity development when needed. You will be working with communities, grass-roots groups, religious leaders, and theological experts and practitioners.
Once in a while, you will be part of fundraising initiatives together with partners, developing and writing project proposals to different back-donors such as Danida, EU or others, and reporting to these donors will also be among the tasks.
The programme manager builds and maintains relationships with our partners and refers to the Regional Director. You will regularly collaborate and spar with global thematic advisors and colleagues working on similar activities primarily in our headquarters in Denmark.
About You
You have at least a master’s degree in social science, development studies, religious studies, or a similar field. You have several years of experience working on development projects and programmes with Christian/faith-based partners.
You have experience and efficiency in programme cycle management using a human rights-based approach, including knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning, and financial management. You are experienced in developing new projects and writing project proposals. You have excellent writing and editing skills in Arabic and excellent oral and written English language skills.
You can work in an intercultural and ecumenical environment and have strong interpersonal communication and networking skills. Regardless of your church background, you can represent Danmission among different religious actors and create supportive relationships with partners and stakeholders.
You have high personal integrity and honesty and are committed to sound and transparent management standards. You are flexible, willing to perform other duties and, on occasion, to work irregular hours.
Danmission Partners and Themes:
Danmission always works with local partners. Partners include churches, other religious institutions, organisations, and secular institutions. We work within 3 major themes: (1) Contextual theology for faith and social action, (2) Peacebuilding and dialogue and (3) Sustainable and just stewardship of natural resources. Danmission has a partnership approach based on mutual respect, accompaniment, and accountability. We strive for transparency and good administration of what is entrusted to us – not least our employees.
Terms and Conditions
The position is full-time national position. The duty station will be the Danmission Regional Office in Beirut. Travel in the region (Egypt and Syria) is expected, as security allows. The initial contract period is one year, with the opportunity for renewal once per year, depending on performance. The first six months serve as a probation period.
