الأشقر يطالب بوقف تحصيل الرسوم وفواتير الكهرباء من المؤسسات السياحية والفنادق في هذا الزمن العصيب
أصدر رئيس اتحاد النقابات السياحية ورئيس نقابة الفنادق، بيار الأشقر، بيانًا اليوم عبّر فيه عن استغرابه من قيام الدوائر الرسمية بتحصيل الرسوم، بما في ذلك فواتير الكهرباء، من المؤسسات السياحية، وخاصة الفندقية. وأكد الأشقر على ضرورة توقف هذه الإجراءات في ظل الظروف الصعبة التي تمر بها البلاد، مشددًا على أهمية اتخاذ قرارات وإجراءات جديدة تهدف إلى تعزيز صمود المؤسسات وحماية العاملين فيها.
وأبدى الأشقر رفضه القاطع لسياسة مؤسسة كهرباء لبنان في قطع الكهرباء عن الفنادق التي تعاني من صعوبة في دفع الفواتير. وحذر من أن هذه الإجراءات غير المسؤولة قد تؤدي إلى إغلاق عدد من المؤسسات الفندقية، مما سيؤدي إلى صرف جماعي للعمال، الذين سيتحولون إلى “نازحين”، لينضموا بذلك إلى النازحين من المناطق المتضررة نتيجة النزاعات المستمرة.
وأشار الأشقر إلى أنه أكد في مداخلته خلال اللقاء التشاوري الذي جمع الهيئات الاقتصادية مع ممثلي الكتل النيابية يوم الثلاثاء الماضي في مقر غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان على ضرورة تأجيل استيفاء فواتير الكهرباء والرسوم الأخرى من المؤسسات السياحية والفندقية، نظرًا للوضع الاقتصادي المتدهور الذي تشهده البلاد. وأوضح أن هذه المطالب، وخاصة ما يتعلق بفواتير الكهرباء، كانت محور نقاشات نقابة الفنادق مع عدد من المسؤولين، بما في ذلك رئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي، الذين وعدوا جميعًا بالنظر في هذه القضايا. كما أشار إلى أن هذه المطالب تضمنتها الورقة التي سلمتها الهيئات الاقتصادية إلى الرئيس ميقاتي ورئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري.
وحذر الأشقر من أن الظروف الصعبة التي يعيشها لبنان نتيجة العدوان الإسرائيلي الوحشي وتداعياته على النشاط الاقتصادي، وخاصة السياحي والفندقي، تتطلب من الحكومة والوزارات المعنية اتخاذ خطوات فاعلة وبشكل سريع للحفاظ على سيولة المؤسسات، لتمكينها من الاستمرار في العمل ومنع إغلاقها وتسريح موظفيها.
وأعرب الأشقر عن أمله أن تلقى هذه المناشدات آذانًا صاغية قبل فوات الأوان.

Ashkar Calls for Halting the Collection of Fees and Electricity Bills from Tourism and Hotel Institutions in These Difficult Times
Today, Pierre Ashkar, President of the Union of Tourism Syndicates and the Hotel Syndicate, issued a statement expressing his astonishment at the official departments’ practice of collecting fees, including electricity bills, from tourism institutions, especially hotels. Ashkar emphasized the need to stop these practices during the challenging circumstances the country is facing, urging for new decisions and measures aimed at strengthening the resilience of these institutions and protecting their employees.
Ashkar firmly rejected the actions of the Electricité du Liban (EDL) in cutting electricity to hotels that are unable to pay their bills. He warned that such irresponsible measures could inevitably lead to the closure of several hotels and a collective layoff of workers, who would then become “displaced,” joining the ranks of those displaced from areas affected by ongoing conflicts.
He highlighted that he stressed the necessity of postponing the collection of electricity bills and other fees from tourism and hotel institutions during his intervention at the consultative meeting held by the economic bodies with representatives of various parliamentary blocs last Tuesday at the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber of Commerce. He pointed out that these demands, particularly regarding electricity, have been closely monitored by the Hotel Syndicate in discussions with several officials, particularly Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who all promised to address them. These demands were also included in the paper submitted by the economic bodies to Prime Minister Mikati and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri.
Ashkar warned that the dire situation in Lebanon due to the brutal Israeli aggression and its repercussions on economic activities, especially tourism and hospitality, requires the government and relevant ministries to take effective and swift measures to maintain the liquidity of institutions, enabling them to continue operating and preventing closures and layoffs.
He expressed hope that this call would be met with receptive ears before it is too late.
