Job Description

The Opportunity

The Program Officer will support the Humanitarian Manager in coordinating Save the Children’s emergency response programs across Lebanon. The role focuses on case management, child protection, education, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), food security and livelihoods (FSL), and child rights governance.

The Program Officer will also play a critical role in partnership management, ensuring effective collaboration and communication with partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Management and Implementation

• Ensure the successful implementation of emergency programs in alignment with the organization’s goals and donor requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Managers and the Humanitarian Manager to analyze, monitor, and report operational activities.
• Maintain regular communication with partners and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
• Foster partnerships with local organizations to maximize the program’s impact.

2. Reporting and Monitoring

• Draft and submit weekly and monthly reports on program activities and progress.
• Conduct field monitoring visits to ensure program quality.

3. Partnership Development and Coordination

• Strengthen relationships with international and local stakeholders to support program sustainability.
• Ensure all partnerships are managed transparently and equitably.

4. Emergency Support

• Be flexible to work outside normal hours in case of major humanitarian emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, International Development, International Relations, or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, preferably with an international organization.
• Strong skills in English writing, editing, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data visualization tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Previous experience with international and local NGOs, especially during emergencies.
• Strong commitment to Save the Children’s values and principles, including child rights and safeguarding.
• Proven experience in partnership management.
• Ability to manage stress and work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and diplomacy in sensitive situations.
