وفي تصريح لافت، أعلن الناطق أن إسرائيل لديها اعتقاد بأن نحو 35 رهينة قد فارقوا الحياة في غزة، لكنه أكد في الوقت ذاته التزام الحكومة الإسرائيلية ببذل قصارى جهدها للإفراج عن باقي الرهائن المحتجزين في أقرب وقت ممكن.

كما شدد الناطق باسم الحكومة على أن إسرائيل “مصممة على إلحاق الهزيمة الكاملة بحركة حماس”، واصفاً الهجوم الذي وقع في السابع من أكتوبر الماضي بأنه لم يكن مجرد اعتداء على إسرائيل فحسب، بل هجوم على العالم بأسره، حسب تعبيره.
