في تصريح للمدير العام لوزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة، محمد أبو حيدر، أكد أن مديرية حماية المستهلك تراقب السلة الغذائية التي يزداد استهلاكها بشكل كبير في فترة الصوم لدى الطوائف المسيحية والمسلمة. وأضاف أن الوزارة تعمل على إعداد دراسة تشمل 1000 متجر في جميع أنحاء لبنان، لرصد الأسعار ومراقبة أي ارتفاعات غير مبررة.
وأوضح أبو حيدر في حديثه لصحيفة نداء الوطن، أن الوزارة تراقب بشكل يومي السلع الغذائية الأساسية بدءًا من المستوردين وصولًا إلى نقاط البيع، وتقوم بتوثيق أي مخالفات قد تحدث لتحويلها إلى القضاء المختص.
آلية الرقابة على الأسعار:
من جانب آخر، أشار أبو حيدر إلى أن وزارة الاقتصاد تعمل على ضمان توافر المواد الغذائية في الأسواق، حيث تسعى لتسريع توزيع السلع الأساسية لضمان وصولها إلى المواطنين بشكل سريع وآمن. كما شدد على أهمية الرقابة المشددة على المستوردين لضمان عدم وجود أي أرباح غير مشروعة.

وفيما يتعلق بالخضار والمنتجات الزراعية، كشف أبو حيدر عن اجتماع يعقده وزير الاقتصاد مع وزير الزراعة والنقابات المعنية يوم الثلاثاء المقبل. الاجتماع يهدف إلى تنظيم الرقابة على أسواق الجملة والمفرق، مع التركيز على العوامل المؤثرة على العرض والطلب في الفترة المقبلة، مثل الطقس البارد الذي أثر على المحاصيل الزراعية، وكذلك التحديات الناجمة عن العدوان الإسرائيلي على الأراضي اللبنانية.
تأثير الطقس على الأسعار:
من جهة أخرى، أكد إبراهيم الترشيشي، رئيس تجمع مزارعي وفلاحي البقاع، في حديثه لنداء الوطن، أن الطقس البارد والمنخفض الجوي الأخير أثر بشكل كبير على المزروعات في لبنان، حيث سجلت درجات حرارة متدنية أثرت على نمو النباتات وألحقت أضرارًا كبيرة في المحاصيل الزراعية مثل البطاطا في عكار والقمح في البقاع.
كما أشار إلى أن هذه العوامل المناخية أدت إلى انخفاض الإنتاج المحلي في بعض المنتجات الزراعية، مما ينعكس مباشرة على الأسعار، ويزيد من المخاوف من غلاء الأسعار مع قرب شهر رمضان.

ونتيجة لهذه التحديات، يترقب المواطنون ارتفاعًا كبيرًا في الأسعار، حيث سيكون العرض المحلي أدنى من الطلب خلال فترة الصوم. مما يخلق حالة من القلق بين المواطنين، خاصة مع عدم قدرة المزارعين على تلبية الاحتياجات المحلية. كما طالب الترشيشي الدولة بفتح أبواب الاستيراد لسد الفجوة بين العرض والطلب.
استقرار أسعار المواد الغذائية:
وفيما يتعلق بالمواد الغذائية، طمأن هاني بحصلي، رئيس نقابة مستوردي المواد الغذائية، المواطنين قبيل شهر رمضان، حيث أكد أن السلع الغذائية ستكون متوفرة بكميات تفوق الحاجة الفعلية للاستهلاك المحلي. كما شدد على أن المستوردين اللبنانيين قاموا بتنويع مصادر السلع لضمان تلبية احتياجات السوق.
وأشار بحصلي إلى أن الأسعار ستكون مستقرة بشكل عام، مع وجود تغييرات طفيفة نتيجة تقلبات الأسعار العالمية لبعض المواد الأولية. كما أكد على أن المستوردين يلتزمون بتوفير السلع بأسعار معقولة وبكميات كبيرة لتلبية احتياجات المستهلكين في شهر رمضان المبارك.

In a statement by the Director-General of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Mohammad Abu Haidar, he emphasized that the Consumer Protection Directorate is closely monitoring the most consumed food basket during the upcoming fasting periods for both Christian and Muslim communities. He added that the ministry is preparing data based on a study involving 1,000 stores across Lebanon to track and monitor prices, particularly for the primary items used daily, especially during Lent.
Abu Haidar noted that the Ministry has been tracking food products daily, from importers to distributors and retailers, and is documenting any violations to be referred to the competent authorities.
Price Monitoring Mechanism:
On another note, Abu Haidar revealed that the Ministry of Economy is working to ensure the availability of food products in the market. The ministry is accelerating the distribution of essential items to ensure they reach the citizens in a timely and efficient manner. He also stressed the importance of tight monitoring of importers to prevent any unjust profits before the goods reach the distributors and retail points.
Agricultural Meeting to Monitor Wholesale Markets:
Regarding vegetables and agricultural products, Abu Haidar revealed that a meeting between the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Agriculture, and concerned unions will be held on Tuesday. The meeting will focus on regulating the monitoring of wholesale and retail markets, considering the external factors affecting supply and demand, particularly the cold weather that impacted agricultural yields, as well as the challenges posed by Israeli aggression on the southern borders.
Impact of Weather on Prices:
On another note, Ibrahim al-Tarshishi, the head of the Beqaa Farmers and Agriculturalists Union, explained that Lebanon had witnessed a recent cold front and low temperatures, which severely affected crops. He pointed out that while winter conditions are present, the region has experienced very little rain, which is crucial for agricultural production.
Tarshishi also mentioned that the temperature fluctuations caused by climate change accelerated plant growth prematurely, followed by freezing temperatures, which damaged agricultural products such as potatoes in Akkar and wheat in the Bekaa Valley.
Expected Price Increase:
As a result of these challenges, there are concerns about a significant increase in prices. With local supply lower than demand, farmers may not be able to meet local needs, resulting in excessive price hikes.

Regarding food products, Hani Bahsali, president of the Lebanese Food Importers Association, reassured citizens ahead of Ramadan, confirming that all food products will be available in quantities that exceed actual local consumption. Bahsali explained that Lebanese importers have diversified their sources to meet market demands, ensuring a wide variety of products available at affordable prices.
He also mentioned that while food prices will generally remain stable, slight fluctuations may occur due to global price changes for some raw materials. Bahsali emphasized that importers are committed to providing sufficient quantities of food at reasonable prices to ensure the comfort of citizens during Ramadan.
