“معركة الأجور والتعويضات”… ماذا حمل “اللقاء الإيجابي” مع وزير العمل؟
في إطار متابعة القضايا العمالية الملحة، زار وفد من الاتحاد الوطني لنقابات العمال والمستخدمين برئاسة النقابي كاسترو عبدالله وزير العمل محمد حيدر. تم خلال اللقاء مناقشة أهم النقاط الواردة في المذكرة المطلبية التي قدمها الوفد، والتي تضمنت تصحيح الأجور و رفع الحد الأدنى للأجور إلى 1000 دولار أميركي أو ما يعادله بالليرة اللبنانية. كما تم طرح موضوع التعويضات للعمال في قطاع الزراعة المتضررين من العدوان الإسرائيلي على لبنان، وكذلك العاملين في الاقتصاد غير المنظم، مثل عمال البناء، العاملين في الأسواق، و المياومين.
في حديث خاص لـ “ليبانون ديبايت”، أكد رئيس الاتحاد الوطني لنقابات العمال والمستخدمين، كاسترو عبدالله، أن “الاجتماع مع وزير العمل كان إيجابيًا، وأبدى الوزير تجاوبًا كبيرًا مع مطالبنا وأكد أنها محقة”. ومع ذلك، أشار الوزير إلى وجود أولويات أخرى تتعلق بالإصلاحات، التعيينات، و الانتخابات البلدية والاختيارية، مما قد يتطلب بعض الوقت، وبالتالي قد تؤخر تنفيذ بعض النقاط.
الضمان الاجتماعي: تعليمات وتوصيات جديدة
وفيما يتعلق بـ الضمان الاجتماعي، أوضح عبدالله أنه “سيتم إصدار تعليمات وتوصيات بشأن المطالب المرتبطة بالتعرفة والخدمات التي يقدمها الضمان الاجتماعي”. كما تم التطرق إلى موضوع التعويضات، حيث أبدى الوزير انفتاحًا على جميع المواضيع المطروحة، بما في ذلك التصديق على الاتفاقيات الدولية بما يتماشى مع معايير العمل اللائق. وأبلغنا أنه سيُكلف لجنة لمتابعة هذا الموضوع معنا.
رفع الحد الأدنى للأجور: خطوة نحو تحسين الوضع المعيشي
أكد عبدالله أن “التركيز الأساسي كان على موضوع الأجور”، الذي يتعلق بشكل وثيق بالقطاعين الخاص و العام، وهو جزء من النقاشات المقبلة. حيث يعد الوزير لدعوة لجنة المؤشر للاجتماع قريبًا لمناقشة هذا الملف.
وأوضح عبدالله أنه تم طرح رفع الحد الأدنى للأجور إلى 1000 دولار أميركي أو ما يعادله بالليرة اللبنانية، على أن يُضاف إليها التقديمات الاجتماعية مثل منح التعليم و بدل النقل، وأن يتم التصريح عنها للضمان الاجتماعي. الهدف من هذه التعديلات هو إعادة القوة الشرائية إلى ما كانت عليه قبل انتفاضة 17 تشرين الأول. لكن الوزير فضّل عدم الخوض في الأرقام حاليًا، على أن يتم مناقشة هذا الملف في جلسة موسعة في لجنة المؤشر.
حلول للتحديات الاقتصادية التي تواجه العمال
وشدد عبدالله على أن “هذه الزيارة تشكل خطوة نحو إيجاد حلول للعديد من التحديات التي يواجهها العمال في لبنان في وقت يعاني فيه الاقتصاد اللبناني من العديد من الصعوبات.”
“Wage and Compensation Battle”… What Did the “Positive Meeting” with the Minister of Labor Bring?
In an effort to address pressing labor issues, a delegation from the National Federation of Workers' Unions led by Castro Abdullah visited Minister of Labor Mohammed Haidar. During the meeting, the key points of the demands presented by the delegation were discussed. These included wage correction and raising the minimum wage to $1,000 USD or its equivalent in Lebanese pounds. The issue of compensation for workers in the agriculture sector, who were affected by the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, as well as workers in the informal economy, including construction workers, market workers, and daily laborers, was also raised.
In a statement to Lebanon24, Castro Abdullah, President of the National Federation of Workers' Unions, confirmed that “the meeting with the Minister of Labor was positive and the minister showed great responsiveness to our demands, acknowledging their legitimacy.” However, the Minister also pointed out that there are other priorities concerning reforms, appointments, and municipal and local elections, which may require some time, potentially delaying the implementation of certain issues.
Social Security: New Instructions and Recommendations
Regarding social security, Abdullah explained that “instructions and recommendations will be issued concerning the demands related to fees and the services provided by social security.” The issue of compensation was also discussed, where the minister showed openness to all topics, including ratifying international agreements in line with decent work standards. He informed us that a committee would be appointed to follow up on this matter.
Raising the Minimum Wage: A Step Towards Improving Living Conditions
Abdullah emphasized that the main focus was on the issue of wages, which is closely linked to both the private and public sectors, and will be part of the upcoming discussions. The Minister is preparing to invite the Wage Committee to meet soon to address this issue.
Abdullah explained that the proposal was to raise the minimum wage to $1,000 USD or its equivalent in Lebanese pounds, with additional social benefits such as education allowances and transportation allowances, to be reported to social security. The goal is to restore purchasing power to pre-October 17th, 2019 levels. However, the minister preferred not to delve into specific figures at this time, and a broader discussion will take place during a meeting of the Wage Committee.
Solutions to the Economic Challenges Facing Workers
Abdullah concluded by emphasizing that “this visit is a significant step towards finding solutions to the many challenges workers face in Lebanon, particularly at a time when the Lebanese economy is enduring numerous difficulties.”
