إضراب واعتصام غدًا وتلويح بالتصعيد… هل تتحرّك الوزارة؟
نفّذت رابطة معلمي التعليم الأساسي اليوم الأربعاء، اعتصامًا أمام مبنى وزارة التربية في الأونيسكو، احتجاجًا على عدم استجابة الوزارة لمطالبها التي تقدمت بها للوزيرة، والتي تتعلق بتحسين الأوضاع المعيشية للمعلمين ورفع رواتبهم بما يتناسب مع الوضع الاقتصادي الراهن.
وفي حديث خاص مع “ليبانون ديبايت”، قدم رئيس الرابطة، حسين جواد، شكره العميق لجميع المعلمين الذين استجابوا لدعوة الإضراب والاعتصام أمام الوزارة. وأكد أن هذا التحرك يعكس معاناة المعلمين وإصرارهم على المطالبة بحقوقهم الأساسية، وخاصة في ظل الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة.
وأعرب جواد عن تقديره لجميع المعلمين الذين بذلوا جهدًا للحضور إلى الاعتصام، رغم الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة والأوضاع الصحية الراهنة، مشددًا على أن هذا التجاوب الكبير يعكس إيمانهم بعدالة قضيتهم وتمسكهم بحقوقهم، وأبرزها المطالبة بسلسلة جديدة للرتب والرواتب التي تضمن لهم الحد الأدنى من العيش الكريم.
وأشار جواد إلى أن الاعتصام جاء بعد سلسلة من التحركات السابقة التي لم تجد أي استجابة من وزارة التربية. رغم الإضراب والتحرك الواسع، إلا أن الوزارة لم تتخذ أي خطوات عملية لحل الأزمة.
بناءً على ذلك، أعلن جواد باسم الرابطة استمرار التصعيد عبر تنفيذ إضراب واعتصام في المدارس يوم غد الخميس، مؤكدًا أن الرابطة ستتخذ قراراتها يوميًا بناءً على التطورات، مشددًا على أن “ما ضاع حق وراءه مُطالب”.
وختم جواد بتأكيده أن الرابطة لن تتراجع عن مطالبها وستواصل التحركات حتى تحقيق الحقوق التي تضمن للمعلمين حياتهم وكرامتهم، داعيًا الوزارة إلى تحمّل مسؤولياتها واتخاذ خطوات جادة لمعالجة الأزمة، بدلاً من المماطلة والتجاهل المستمر.
Strike and Sit-In Tomorrow, with Threat of Escalation… Will the Ministry Act?
The Union of Basic Education Teachers held a sit-in today, Wednesday, in front of the Ministry of Education in the UNESCO area, protesting the ministry’s lack of response to their demands, which were previously submitted to the minister. These demands are related to improving the living conditions of teachers and raising their salaries to align with the current economic situation.
In a statement to “Lebanon Debate,” the head of the union, Hussein Jawad, expressed his gratitude to all teachers who responded to the call for the strike and sit-in in front of the ministry. He emphasized that this action reflects the teachers' suffering and their determination to demand their fundamental rights, particularly given the current economic hardships.
Jawad also expressed his deep appreciation for the teachers who made the effort to attend, despite difficult economic and health conditions, particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan. He stressed that this strong response demonstrates teachers’ belief in the justice of their cause and their commitment to their legitimate demands, especially the establishment of a new salary scale that guarantees them a decent living.
He pointed out that the sit-in followed a series of previous actions that received no response from the Ministry of Education. Despite the strike and large-scale mobilization, the ministry failed to take any concrete steps to resolve the crisis.
As a result, Jawad announced that the union would escalate its actions by holding another strike and sit-in at schools tomorrow, Thursday. He confirmed that the union would make daily decisions based on developments, stressing that “No right is lost as long as there’s a claimant.”
Jawad concluded by reaffirming that the union would not back down from its demands and would continue its actions until teachers’ rights and dignity are secured. He urged the ministry to take responsibility and make serious steps to address the crisis, rather than continuing to delay and ignore the issue.
