“نقيب الأفران في لبنان يطمئن: لا زيادة في سعر ربطة الخبز ويطالب بتعزيز مخزون القمح”

أكّد رئيس اتحاد نقابات المخابز والأفران في لبنان، النقيب ناصر سرور، أنه لا زيادة في سعر ربطة الخبز حاليًا، مؤكدًا أن هذا السعر مرتبط مباشرةً بسعر صرف الدولار وكلفة المواد الأولية. كما طالب الحكومة اللبنانية بضرورة منح ملف الإهراءات المتعلقة بتخزين القمح والحبوب الأهمية الكبرى من أجل ضمان الأمن الغذائي في البلاد.

في تصريح له لـ”الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام”، دعا النقيب ناصر سرور الحكومة اللبنانية إلى إعطاء ملف الإهراءات التي تُستخدم لتخزين القمح والحبوب الأهمية القصوى، مشيرًا إلى أن هذه الإهراءات تعتبر حيوية لضمان الأمن الغذائي الوطني، خاصةً بعد تدمير إهراءات الحبوب في مرفأ بيروت جراء الانفجار الذي وقع في عام 2020. وأوضح سرور أن لبنان فقد مخزونه الاستراتيجي من القمح والحبوب الذي كان يغطي فترات طويلة، مما يقلل من قدرة البلاد على الصمود في حال نشوب نزاعات إقليمية أو حروب.

وذكر سرور أن قطاع المطاحن في لبنان أصبح يعتمد على التخزين الذاتي في مستودعاته الخاصة، والتي لا تتجاوز فترة تغطيتها ثلاثة أشهر. وأضاف أن بناء إهراءات جديدة لتخزين القمح والحبوب في مدن مثل طرابلس، بيروت، صيدا، وحتى صور، يُعد خطوة ضرورية لتأمين المخزون الغذائي الوطني وضمان استقرار أسعار الطحين والخبز.

ودعا النقيب سرور الدول الصديقة للبنان والمنظمات الدولية، مثل العراق ودول الخليج، إلى دعم لبنان في مشروع بناء الإهراءات نظرًا لأهميته الوطنية والاستراتيجية في الحفاظ على استقرار الأمن الغذائي في البلاد.

وفي ختام تصريحه، حذر سرور من أن إهمال ملف الإهراءات يعتبر كارثة وطنية، خاصة في ظل الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة التي تمر بها البلاد والصراعات الدولية في ممرات البحار.

أما بالنسبة لما يُتداول عن زيادة محتملة في سعر ربطة الخبز، فأكد سرور أن “الأسعار المرتفعة للقمح عالميًا لم تؤثر بشكل كبير على سعر الخبز حتى الآن، وأنه لا مبرر لزيادة السعر طالما أن الوضع مستقر والارتفاع ما زال في النطاق المقبول”.

يبقى لبنان في حاجة ماسة إلى تعزيز مخزونه الاستراتيجي من القمح والحبوب لضمان استقرار أسعار الغذاء، بينما يستمر نقيب الأفران في طمأنة اللبنانيين بعدم وجود زيادة في أسعار ربطة الخبز في الوقت الراهن.

Lebanon’s Bakery Syndicate President, Nasser Sarour, reassured the public that there will be no increase in the price of bread at this time. He emphasized that bread prices are directly linked to the exchange rate of the dollar and the cost of raw materials. Sarour also called on the Lebanese government to prioritize the wheat storage issue to ensure national food security.

In a statement to the National News Agency, Nasser Sarour, the head of Lebanon’s Bakery Syndicate, urged the Lebanese government to give priority to the wheat and grain silos issue, stressing that these silos are critical for ensuring the country's food security. He pointed out that after the destruction of the grain silos at the Beirut port due to the 2020 explosion, Lebanon lost its strategic grain reserve, which once covered long periods, weakening the country’s ability to withstand regional or international conflicts.

Sarour explained that Lebanon’s milling sector now relies on private storage, which only covers up to three months of supply. He further emphasized the need to establish new silos for storing wheat and grains in cities such as Tripoli, Beirut, Sidon, and possibly Tyre. This would help Lebanon maintain food security, stabilize flour and bread prices, and provide real resilience against future crises.

Sarour also called on Lebanon’s friendly nations and international organizations, particularly Iraq and the Gulf countries, to support the construction of silos in Lebanon, given the national and strategic importance of the project to ensure food stability.

In his concluding remarks, Sarour warned that neglecting the silo issue would be a national disaster, especially given the difficult economic conditions Lebanon faces and the ongoing international maritime conflicts.

Regarding the rumors about a potential increase in bread prices, Sarour assured that the global rise in wheat prices has not yet significantly impacted bread prices. He stated that there is no justification for any price increase as long as the situation remains stable and the rise in wheat prices remains within acceptable limits.

Lebanon urgently needs to enhance its strategic wheat reserves to ensure food price stability. Meanwhile, Nasser Sarour continues to reassure Lebanese citizens that there is no increase in bread prices at this moment.
